That is pretty much what I will be doing, along with perhaps lunch on the beach during the day but if I stayed here in Europe, I would be working so it will do me fine, I'm in one of those industries that goes on 24 hours, 365 days a year and basically you either book holiday over Christmas or you end up doing all the work!.....or is it just a question of boxing off a roast dinner in a farang bar and having a good drink with you're friends not unlike most normal days.

Tunein Radio App would also be a good way to listen in on festivities for smart phone users.

The cure was a trip to London
Wow, it looks great! I had to go to visit someone in Ladbrook Grove. I then had breakfast in Portobello Market, such an atmosphere. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, greeting me...stands with Gingerbread houses..a real festive show. I drove through Kensington, then down Park Lane into Knightbridge to see the lights etc, wonderful. The round trip went down the Kings road and then finally ended up in Kent. I visited my 95 year old mother in law with all her gifts. So I am now in the mood
Bring it on
I don't mind also if it snows on Christmas day!

As requested, here is a link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01pftnk the service is live today (Christmas Eve) at 10pm HH time. Just click the link, choose 'listen now' and may your Christmas be white...well, sunny at least!dtaai-maai wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/I occasionally listen to BBC Radio 3 and 4 and Capital FM - all jolly British.J.J.B. wrote: It's a celebration of Christmas that includes well-known Carols and readings I'm sure many would recognise, from the Choir of King's College Chapel in Cambridge. It's available on the World Service (I don't quite know when) as well as Radio 4, live at 3pm GMT -
... the radio service is the real deal and I'm sure there's a way of tuning in via the Internet.
EDIT: Good info, JJB - I'm a bit bah-humbuggy about Christmas here, but a listen to that might change my mind. Unless I forget, of course... Any chance of a reminder on the day?

I was in London the other day and have to agree. Took a loop from Chinatown down to Piccadilly, up Regents Street, Oxford Street and onto Tottenham Court Road and it was buzzing. Even the Chinese waiters serving our dim sum were smiling..........Siani wrote:The cure was a trip to LondonWow, it looks great!

Re: Pre Christmas Blues
Just come back from 2 weeks in London, everything was what we wanted it to be. It was my son-in-law`s first trip to trhe UK and he was amazed by the politeness of shop staff, waiters and the nearest pub, which some of you may know. It is one of the 4 pubs on the corner of Brentford football club. Typical London pub with the majority of drinkers Irish families. He whispered to me "is fellah a bad word?" No, why? because someone nudged me and said "sorry fellah".
All round good Christmas.
All round good Christmas.

No problem, you simply go to the Emirates Stadium the next weekend and you can buy the wheels back at a good price!Arcadian wrote:Go to Tottenham?
