I think we were very lucky last season to get ahead of Spurs in the final standings. Now I think, they are more experienced and may not let that happen, I'm still praying in front of our Buddha statue, though. Both Scouser teams are also looking good at the moment so it may well end that we'll be out of CL for the first time in who knows how many years. Still as I wrote the other night, I'm pretty optimistic about our future with the young Brits who have just re-signed.

There was doubt about whether the Spurs vs ManU game should be played tonight because of the snow. In the old days, no field inspection would have been necessary, eh?

:D

Well up to the 92nd minute I thought it was gonna be one of those days where the better team lost. Apart from picking the ball out the net once Lloris had nothing to do for the game. Spurs dominated the most of it (I'm sure the stats will verify that). Dempsey should have got one earlier but a poor finish and a good save stopped that.

He made up for it in the 93rd minute though...

A great performance from Spurs today. Lennon at his best again.

Disappointing to concede in injury time like that but Spurs had United under the cosh for most of the second half.
Defoe missed a couple of great chances and Dempsey was poor till he slotted the equaliser in.
Lennon was the best player on the park by a country mile....why cant he play like that more often ?

^^A very fair summary, Zidane.
The usual Spurs story. Man U 6 shots and 1 goal, Spurs 23 shots and 1 goal (just!).
Yes, Man U defended well and De Gea made several good saves, but if we want to be sure of a top 4 spot, we really will have to start putting more goals away.

We should have won that game, but as it turned out, I'll take the point! :D

Having another look at the Rooney penalty shout I must say we were a little fortunate there... :o

Seen plenty of them given.

Chelsea did okay seeing we played with 10 men until Ba came on.

Spurs very timid in the 1st half but dominated the 2nd but it wouldn't have been a surprise to have seen United get a 2nd on one of their breaks. Defoe had the best chance but wanted too much time allowing Ferdinand to block.

I don't get Spurs. I actually had them down to win today, but they started almost at half pace. Bottom line is that Spurs need more options up front, as thats where they stalled too often through lack of options for the final pass, although the old Fulham combination nearly worked once.

Nice to see Parker still runs with the ball, and runs and runs and......
Talk is cheap

I think it would have been great news if he joined the Premiership, world class midfielder, a loss for football fans

I agree but I really do want that top four spot this year... :D

Not prepared to sacrifice it for the joy of watching a world class player play for someone else.

Defoe should have scored, but I'd say Dempsey's missed chance was easier. We really should be expecting to score 3 or 4 from a performance like that.
Bottom line is that Spurs need more options up front
Yes, and I'm astonished that they don't seem to be addressing this, especially with Adebayor off to Africa for a month (not that he's been doing much this season). Let's hope that, like a duck's legs under water, there's lots of unseen activity going on behind the scenes in the hunt for another top notch striker.
