Bad Binta Burger Experience

Post by rocknrolla6979 »

Tonight I went for the Binta Burger which by the way is bloody good. But tonights experience was not so good.
I ordered the Cheese bacon burger as usual which includes 2 slices of bacon and slice of cheese with the famous binta burger. Normally you have a lady that does the cooking but this time I had a young guy. well he really cut what you normally get with less of everything so i said to him to give the same as what the lady normally would give. He said no problem, but when it came to the bill there was a lot of extra's. I said no, its 120bht for it normally so he called over what he said was the owner, when i explained this to the "owner" i was told tough this is what you get. I said no problem i dont want it and walked away, next thing i know i have his hands grabbing my shirt telling me to buy it or else. I was not drunk nor angry, just could not be arsed to argue so i said fine here is your money but I wont buy from you again. He laughed and said no problem.
Thailand, funny with what you cant be arsed with over here!
Just thought i would share what happened. Weird end of a night.

Even with the extra costs, I'm sure it would still have been better value than a McD's meat patty sandwich. Oh sorry, they call those burgers as well.

On a slightly different note, the guy you dealt with obviously won't give a damn whether he ever sees you again or not. There are plenty of customers about, so losing the odd one here and there is no problem for him. Besides, he knows you'll more than likely be back anyway..... :D

The guy who owns it (or used to) is Alan from the USA and would never pull a stunt like that. He hangs out at Sara Janes so if I was you I'd go along and ask him what is the situation. Sounds like a Thai scam to me

I actually said to the guy to call the boss and he said he was the boss.

To be honest i really could not care less. Its thailand and as we all know stuff like this happens.

I will now be enjoying the many delights of burger king on the way home.

Something similar happened me in Pattaya over toast of all things...more passive aggression than actual....

I used to to go this place for breakfast....and a cooked breakfast comes with toast right?

A nice middle aged Thai lady used to serve me a cooked breakfast every morning with toast and tea and orange juice.....and every morning I'd tip her 30 baht...every one happy.

I was going there about a week or so when I went one morning and the usual lady wasn't serving...When the bill came I saw toast was now an extra 30 baht..I queried it and was told 'lady make mistake' with a bit of a scowl.

I shrugged, paid, no tip and never went back. The owner lost my biz and the waitress lost 210 baht weekly tip..and I lost nothing...Not smart..

I hope the waitress has quit and moved on to a more sensible establishment that knows a breakfast without toast is just ridiculous. :tsk:

Its funny how the smallest things makes us happy and when they are taken away it makes a bigger difference. I wont ever have a binta burger again because im stubbon and to me its more about the principle of it.

Let's not forget though that he/they may have been forced to increase their prices in line with increased costs at the supermarket, but rather than bump up the price, they cut back a bit on ingredients. Even with the extra costs you incurred, my guess it was still better value that you'll ever get at BK or McD.

BTW, I've heard JW's staff put a good burger together, and his bar is just around the corner.
I would also give Bintaburger another chance because you could have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Of course as a last resort, you could always take a packed lunch with you or opt for a gourmet burger from 7/11......

I never heard of it till today but I won't go there now either

Especially since he grabbed the man's shirt..That's assault and unacceptable whether his costs have gone up or not.

Binta's loss is JW's gain

Can't say I've read anything to put me off a Bintaburger, to be honest. This thread is in danger of going from slightly daft to completely absurd.

Was not supposed to, it was just a conversation piece. What is this forum supposed to be for?
