Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
The issue was dead. Do we really want to reopen this debate? Sometimes it's possible to make matters worse by trying to do the right thing.

This is the way

There is a lovely little Thai place 20metres away, Palm Bistro around the corner, noodle shop over the road.
The lovely little Thai place isn't in Naab Thong's league (do they offer Long Island Iced Tea?),
Palm Bistro is European and about 3 times the price, noodle shop over the road is effectively a takeaway - incidentally that's where Naab Thong get their somtam.
It's you who needs to open your eyes to the fact that Naab Thong is not situated in the midst of teeming alternative options and it is a long way to travel for frustration!

Bit frustrated today..a group of us arrived at lunchtime, only to be told "Yes we are open, but we have no food or beer".. WTF?? seemingly we were told if we wanted to eat som tam or krapow they would order from the stall opposite..as we were on our way back towards HH, we kept going & ate in town.

So you think the new procedure now before going to a restaurant should be to call ahead to see if they 'have' open?why not call this number,i suppose you have a telephone and ask if they have open, its not so difficult
Sounds a bit 'hit & miss' this place, and one you wouldn't want to take visiting friends or family all the way out to just in case they're closed or they tell you to order from across the road.
Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
up too you,no one put a gun to your head and force you out there ,we call every time as we comealleykat wrote:So you think the new procedure now before going to a restaurant should be to call ahead to see if they 'have' open?why not call this number,i suppose you have a telephone and ask if they have open, its not so difficult

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
Alleykat..I'm thinking the same..why spend money on an advert here on the forum to increase trade & custom when your restaurant is open on a pre-book basis only..??
bsdk1960.. TIT eh?..well if this place is advertising on a Farang-based forum, hoping to get custom from Europeans etc, then they at least should make the effort to encourage trade by opening on a regular basis, & stocking their fridges with the anticipation of farangs wishing to sample their menu.
Every other restaurant seems to manage to do this & go out of their way to get a slice of the Farang-diner pie. If a tourist reads the ad on here, spends daft tuk-tuk money to haul the family out there, then on arrival gets "Solly..we close today, maybe next time you ling..& we open flor you" ..Well, I know what assumption I'd make.

I think advertising is under 10 bath a day so not big money and if tourist read on the thread I think
they find out to call first and if not they get a tour outside the big city

and last Bee speaks very good english so sure she not speak as you suggest above so get your facts right. Have you ever been there ?
