Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
There are lots of valid points here.
Naab Thong is a bit out of the way for most people, so calling first sounds like a sensible idea.
Do Naab Thong market themselves as well as they could do - I think the answer has to be no and a bit more use of this thread wouldn't go amiss.
Is it worth going to - from my own experience and judging by the near 100% positive comments about the food, I would say definitely.
I think the comments made by US the other day were as much surprise as a complaint - I mean it is pretty unusual for a restaurant to say they are open but don't have any food or drinks!!

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
Some facts
We had a limited menu yesterday lunchtime. Only a few Thai dishes and full Western range available. Many items had sold out of good quality at the market so we had to find them from other places which took time.
We had run out of Chang classic. All other normal beer we had. We were waiting for delivery. I would have been happy to buy some in the village if people could have waited a few minutes
Nobody was told to go and eat opposite only that we could order and get for them. We always offer the Issan food stalls food as an option for our customers to have with their meal as we do not make some of these dishes. They also order from us for their customers.
Several of the cycling group stayed and had lunch and beers.
Sometimes we have to close with short notice. We always try to post on here as soon as possible.
In answer to a question s to why we use this forum. We have around 25000 views and 400 replies in less than 2 years so we feel it works well and is worth the money.

bsdk1960.. TIT eh?..well if this place is advertising on a Farang-based forum, hoping to get custom from Europeans etc, then they at least should make the effort to encourage trade by opening on a regular basis, & stocking their fridges with the anticipation of farangs wishing to sample their menu.
Every other restaurant seems to manage to do this & go out of their way to get a slice of the Farang-diner pie. If a tourist reads the ad on here, spends daft tuk-tuk money to haul the family out there, then on arrival gets "Solly..we close today, maybe next time you ling..& we open flor you" ..Well, I know what assumption I'd make.
I think advertising is under 10 bath a day so not big money and if tourist read on the thread I think
they find out to call first and if not they get a tour outside the big city![]()

and last Bee speaks very good english so sure she not speak as you suggest above so get your facts right. Have you ever been there ?

If she couldn't work she wouldn't have been there, would she?

You are very sarcastic, not just to me but also to Usual Suspect, who said in an earlier post he had been to the restaurant and it was open but with no food or beer.
Take your pithy Danish sayings away from this forum - if you cannot post politely don't post at all!

sorry,my danish humor.
1.on page 27 Bee say she was there.
2.on the same page Usual Suspect is joking, genelrasing or being very sarcastic about the way thai
people speak,so at least he has some humor or maybe not.
3.and about my pithy Danish sayings,we don't use it for not be polite, just a saying.
4.I try to be polite but maybe its the rain and snow here in denmark that makes me "sarcastic" when I think of the problem about a restaurant that's closed sometimes can make such a big fuss, Im so sorry.
5.at last I think we should leave it up to moderator to decide who or who cannot poste here.
6. Have a nice day.

Why closed for Chinese New Year - none of you are Chinese are you? Any excuse for a holiday? Do you close for every Buddha day? Seems to me Naab Thong is a hobby restauarant - a play thing!naab thong wrote:Just to let you know we will be closed friday, saturday, sunday 7/8/9th for Chinese new year.

Most Thais are of Chinese origin and it means as much to them as does Songkran. With many a great deal more. Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
For the love of God "easyas" - get off the soapbox... TBO now getting a little boring. I'm not Chinese either, but will be celebrating the Chinese New Year as I have Chinese relatives.... I work for an Italian owned company but am based in Chongqing. I could well need to work the period in Vietnam or Cambodia or should I just get your permission first before taking a break?easyas wrote:Why closed for Chinese New Year - none of you are Chinese are you? Naab Thong
I have found Naab Thong's to be a great restaurant, with great staff and great food. I amongst others have from time to time been disapointed when the restaurant has been closed, but as JW and others say, there are alternatives and it's not the end of the world...... had I had sense to call first (which in my opinion is hardly an issue), I would have avoided the disappointment....
To all at Naab Thong & Others on this forum - Have a GREAT Chinese New Year!!!!

Not sure where the gang mentality comes from or why personal insults have to be added to make a point?
