As posted recently, we used 'Oriental Living' almost exclusively for the interior of our villa (hard and soft furnishings), and were delighted with the finished result. Great communication throughout, they listened to my opinion, gave theirs when they thought I was wrong, and the ideas I conceded on turned out to look fabulous and stylish. Well worth having a chat with them to discuss your requirements.

Thank you for your reply. How was their costs and did they actually purchase things for you or do they just provide the services? Was their fee based on their design work or did it also cover coordination, construction work?
Appreciate your response.

I believe it is best to separate each area of expertise. Yes, you will find the one stop shop but they will have one specific area of specialization. Kitchen, furnishings, carpets and art can all be separated. You probably have an over all "theme." Just coordinate colors, etc.
Would also recommend Beautiful World. See Khun "Tong".
Stop by and see their show room and if you like the general style of things they can help you. Oriental World is the same. Stop by and see their things. If you like the over all style they can help you. Each will source from their own stock and supplies. "Design" is generally included in prices I believe. Oriental Living is very expensive IMHO. Beautiful Living a little better. We bought some things from both but did our own Interior Design. You will find curtain designers too. Index Living and Home Pro also has free design services if you like that style of furniture. Siam Old Teak can do design as well but there is a 2-3 month wait for furniture to be made. But high quality Teak Furniture.
Here is the info:

Stevieboy - Initially, the team from Oriental Living came to our villa, we spent a few hours discussing our likes and dislikes, looked at some catalogues, picked various pieces of furniture that we liked, they went away and produced a colour computer generated image of each room fully furnished, very detailed, down to the artwork on the walls with the colours and designs we had discussed. This was done for free, with no obligation on our part. This was perfect for us, as we could clearly see that this was the look and ambience we liked, and which would work for us. They had interpreted our thoughts very well.

In regard to pricing, they are not the cheapest in town, however, their prices reflect the quality of professionalism and workmanship, IMHO. Each piece of furniture was individually priced, as was the construction of wardrobes, bathroom cupboards, wood panelling - all high quality teak - plus window blinds etc. They sourced the artwork from outside, as they would have done with anything else if we had requested it.

We had a couple of face to face meetings after we contracted them and then all communication was done by e-mail over the next few months when we were not in Hua Hin. We found their communication, understanding of our needs and co-ordination to be very good throughout.

A couple of examples:

- We couldn't find a style of sofa that suited us in Hua Hin so we sent them a picture of what we would like with all dimensions, and they manufactured it at their premises, a good, high quality job - exactly what we wanted.

- I decided half way through the work that I wanted to change the fabric (both texture and colour) agreed for some of the blinds. Within 4 days of advising them by e-mail, I received 8 swatches sent to my current home (which is 3,000 miles away) by courier, because 'you can't see the colour and texture properly if we sent by e-mail'. I was impressed by that!

We have also sourced some lamps and outside furniture from 'Thai Wood', who have some nice pieces and are reasonably priced. Also, 'Beautiful World' have some nice pieces, all depends on what you like.
