Just back from an early stroll on the beach and in front of Condochain where a lot of the kite schools are was a poster advertising the above. No details of exact location but shouldn't be hard to find.
No mention of any sponsor unlike the world championships which were sponsored by Intercon and held in front of their hotel but Friday may reveal some staging being erected or other prep work some where on the beach.

Think last year it was centered outside the Intercontinental hotel as many kite boarders stayed there. I stand corrected though.

As I said in my post Richard, that was the world championship, this is Hua Hin championship.

Was having my lunch on my balcony watching them kick off at around 1345 and all looked fine

Yes, unusual today as it was windy early but dropped off before 3 pm when normally the wind picks up at that time and the kiters come out to play late in the afternoon.
Anyway I counted around 50 kites at its peak so I guess a successful day.
