Best internet service provider in HH
I need to get set up with a fast but resonably priced internet service. I want to stream movies and use skype so can anyone tell me where i can go to gte best service. I had true in BKK and that was fine.
I also need some English TV programs like discovery, etc so does anyone offer package deals where i can pay one bill a month for both?
Thank you.

Re: Best internet service provider in HH
The above is good advice, there is no "best" provider in Hua Hin as they all vary greatly in terms of speed and reliability depending on where you are, condition of cabling, how many others are sharing the service etc.

Re: Best internet service provider in HH
My experience is that TOT is at the bottom of the barrel and CAT is better but constantly on and off and had to make too many calls to get it "repaired". Have heard that 3BB is better if it available to you. True was very good when in BKK too.
Re: Best internet service provider in HH
If you can get it where you are staying, to DOCIS (Cable) package from TRUE is good at 899bt per month, and includes a cable TV subscription too. I think you need to be living quite near to the main road to get it though?

Any public internet shops nearby? Then ask which ISP(s) they use.

In what part of town will you be setting up? Maybe a forum member lives nearby and can give a relevant recommendation.

I live in Emerald Resort just off Soi 112 near Tubtai and use TOT. Today the service is intermittent occasionally drops to 18 mbps waiting for them to fix the problem. Anyone living here using a different service.

Been with the 590Bt 3BB package, no problems, download speeds good, for 2 years. This is on Soi 102

I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to internet connections & stuff...BUT, whenever things are not working etc ,3BB are straight out to help me..& their 590B/month package suits me fine.
Re: Best internet service provider in HH
3BB have been brilliant for me apart from the time Thai Expat TV identified 3BB had a packets problem between Bangkok and Hua Hin. Despite weekly hasteners, they just ignored my calls. The call is still outstanding, many months on.
In conclusion, they are brilliant at fixing small problems, but if the problem is of a more technical nature, they simply put their heads in the sand, and the customer doesn't exist.
The happy ending to this tale is Thai Expat TV developed a fix to overcome 3BB's shortcomings.

Re: Best internet service provider in HH
We have used 3 BB for the last several years and brilliant service. Any problems and a technician is normally there within 24 hrs.
How is the Expat TV? and what are the costs? Any drawbacks?
Thanks

I think that for the money it's very good and gives you access to most of the main UK channels. The only small niggle I have is that the programme appears to "jump" about a minute 2 or 3 times during most (but not all) programmes. Whether that is my Internet connection or not I dont know - I have the 3BB 590 baht package, but overall I am very pleased that I took out the subscription.Brit Jim wrote:We have used 3 BB for the last several years and brilliant service. I pretty sure that TOT is the only provider available for Emerald at the moment. I've been downloading today and the speeds are pretty much as normal.

BTW, if you takeout a full year subscription, the discounted price is 6,000 baht.Dannie Boy wrote:I think that for the money it's very good and gives you access to most of the main UK channels.
