Glad I do not have try to save spending such a small amount each day.
At least you will have a little more so the family can buy a bigger headstone..........or party longer
You are showing total ignorance of my condition. I will continue with my 3 monthly hospital check-ups, and reconsider if my condition changes, Certainly, nothing will happen that is life threatening in a 3 month period.

If my condition was that of several years ago, then yes, it would be essential to check 4 times per day. However, I have been cured, and my current daily checks are to ensure no relapse. Even then, I would be foolish to pay the required 11,760 Baht per annum that Hua Hin pharmacies want, when the same product is available on the Internet for <£33.

As I said, if my condition changes, I will, of course reconsider.

BB When you set up a PP account, they deposit a small amount of money into your bank. This can take a week+ to take place. Once the money has been put in the bank you can tell them the amount as it differs every time for each new customer...it's the equal to about 20p. I would not think it would matter how long you have had the bank account.
Do you still have a UK bank? If you have you can set it up with that one. It's quite easy as it's all done by email.
Are you type 1 or type 2 diabetic? If type 2 there is no need to monitor every day, just 3 times a week should be ok, this was told to me by my doctor. If type 1 daily monitoring is vital, even up to 3 times a day.
I am wondering if you can buy the strips on Llloys Pharmacy online?

http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/en/health ... rips-kits/

I buy loads of stuff from them and sometimes they have spcial offers. Maybe cheaper from the USA? Worth looking into.

Don't listen to other comments, diabetes is something you cannot ignore. Cut the carbs, keeps the sugar level down.

IMPORTANT. Whatever you do, look after your feet. This is even more important in a hot climate. Do not walk around without shoes, ever. If your feet are dry and cracked, daily moisterise them with cream. Get Mrs BB to check daily under the feet to look for cuts or splits. If you get an ulcer on your foot, toe etc it can be very serious if left untreated. Not to frighten you but my aunt had 3 toes amputated

On that cheerful note....I will end! Good luck with PP.

Siani,

Yes, you can buy from Lloyds online, but they are a little expensive. I actually know somebody at Lloyds, so could buy at 20% discount, and get a friend to bring them out. However, they are much cheaper via eBay, and this a preferred route.

I had type 2 diabetes, but last year's sleeve gastrectomy cured me of that. I have only been checking for the last 15 months in case there was a relapse. As everything has been spot on for that length of time, I see no point continuing with daily tests, and I'll rely upon my quarterly hospital visit. If something shows up on a hospital visit, or the hospital advise me to resume, then I won't. It's now daily checking, or the 3 month check - there is no logical reason that I can see for both when you've already been cured.

I've already had one aborted toe amputation here. Thai doctors can't comprehend that type 2 diabetes can be cured, and assumed my toe was a gonner. They were quite amazed when it got better. I am careful with feet problems, and have them inspected regularly.

Hi BB

When you set up your Paypal account, you can link it to your Kasikorn bank account. Siani says they deposit money in your account and then you have to confirm the amount. I had a different experience, as did many others I know of. In my case they debited my account, I think for a sum of $3 which is later refunded. Paypal charged my account, and when they do this, you'll find some or other transaction code on your bank statement, which can be viewed anytime if you have registered for internet banking. Once you know the code, log onto Paypay, click the "get verified" link, enter the code.Take note however that this process only confirms that your bank account information is correct, after which you can withdraw from Paypal into said bank account.

Even once this is done, you will have a withdrawal limit on your account until such time that you become "verified". To be verified you have to register a credit card on Paypal. For this I used the Kasikorn Web Card.

The tricky bit comes when you enter your name and address. :cuss: It has to be EXACTLY as it appears on the banks records. In my case, my name is in English, but my actual address is in Thai. Once I figured this out I got Mrs Takiap to type my English name and Thai address into the system, and I was instantly verified.

In fact, I need to update my credit card details because according to Paypal, my last one has expired, despite the fact that it only expires in 2020. Not really urgent though because once you're verified once, you're verified.

Hope this helps if you need it.

Thanks Takiap, you have confirmed what I thought about addresses. I've been to the bank today to update their records with my address. I will try again later.
