12 Month Extension/90 Day Reporting Question

Post by zeitgeist »

What happens regarding 90 day reporting at the end of my current 12 month extension?
I believe I need to apply for my next extension 30 days before expiry of current, the 90 day reporting would be due at the same time as I (hopefully) collect my next 12 month extension, do I need to do both?
Do this make sense? I may have over-thought this :D

You have the option of applying for the extension 30 days before expiry. It is not mandatory,it is just the earliest you can apply. They will tell you at immigration when your next 90 day report is due at the time of your application.

If your 90 day report is due within the 30 days prior to your extension renewal date, then you can do the two at the same time.
If the report falls outside of the 30 days then it'll be two visits.
Remember that you can report 15 days early or 7 days late if that helps the two dates co-incide.

Edited for clarity - I hope.

As an aside on 90 day reporting and did not realise it until it happened. When the wife got a new passport and was registering it with immigration, her TM 47 was destroyed as it related to her old passport number.

Had to fill out a new TM 47 longhand also did one for me. When the officer saw that I was only about half way through my 90 days he questioned as it was outside the 15 days early. I asked him nicely so that it brought both of our 90 days reports into sync.

Sense prevailed and got the same reporting date as my wife, nice man.

They can be accommodating if asked nicely.
