Do you have surface feed?

I'm afraid we don't have any diving equipment ourselves :(

Incidentally, the item concerned lies at a depth of approx. 4 m at low tide.
We have a window of opportunity tomorrow of about 1 1/2 h each side of the tide change for searching plus 1 1/2 h each end for traveling, preparing and returning, e.g. between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Too heavy for skin diving?
Can't you grapple it?

Hmm I've the diving equipment, and experience. A flight from California isn't that much..........

Seriously, hope you find someone!!

It's actually a 40 HP outboard motor - the weight isn't the problem as we can use the anchor winch of a larger boat to haul it up.
Skin diving is obviously something we will try today if we don't have a diver with equipment.
It would be better, though, if we had a real diver who could stay down for a while to make the search more efficient.

Trying to source a scuba tank at the moment, will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Thanks to everyone for their responses - not sure we would be able to get Migrant from California today, though!!

The current situation is:
We've found a local guy who dives professionally for large clams.
He's on his way out there now with a friend of mine who's a hobby diver.

The best news of all though is that Buksida is on his way here from Bang Sapan right now with his tanks :thumb:

Lets hope we can find it!

The final option if we can't see it would then be the clam diver going out in his own boat with a dredging net.

Fingers crossed!!!

Whilst you're at it, if you happen to find any pieces of eight - they're mine :duck:

Seriously - good luck.

And if you spot a battered old Toyota HiLux down there, please call the BBC.
Hope all goes well, see you Thursday.
This is the way

If you could find one of me old boots down there that would be great. A good friend already found the left one for me...

By the by... may I ask what it is you have dropped in the Big Blue - seems important. Not your passport is it?

Good luck anyhow.

Edit: Just re-read and realised you already posted what it is that sunk to the bottom.

Of more interest, and with much gnashing of teeth and liberal use of expletives I expect, would be the tale of woe and sequence of misfortune that led to said outboard being deposited in Davy Jones' locker.
