Royal Mail delivery to Hua Hin

Post by sand_dancer »

Good Morning Guys and Girls...

I had documentation sent to Thailand from the UK via Royal Mail....

The Tracker is telling me that the item could not be delivered....

Where in HH would this letter be sitting so that I can go and retrieve it...

Many Thanks

Is the PO open on a Sunday? Thought it was Mon-Fri and to midday on Saturdays.

Also, even when it is open, I think there are restrictions on pick up times for non-deliveries.

Not sure if it is open on Monday as it is a holiday day. Just had an EMS package arrive last week which showed on the tracking that there was a problem with the address but when we went in it was being prepared for being sent out and had not been the previous day. Suspect this is a delaying tactic on the tracking system. If it is EMS then you can straight through to the back past the staff only barrier and through the doors out of the air con section where they will help you. This will save time waiting at the post restante desk queue.
I knew it was not an address problem as our package had the address in Thai and English very clearly hence my comment about the unknown address appearing in the tracking section.
As a matter of interest, my package was sent via parcelforce specifically so it came EMS as it was important docs. Was this sent just through the post office track and trace and did it arrive via EMS. The post office would have charged me less than twenty quid but parcelforce EMS was over fifty!!! I am not aware of a cheaper reliable guaranteed courier service here in Hua Hin.

Ah, I think that's because the place was shut on Wednesday for May Day and will be again tomorrow as it's another public holiday as a day in lieu for Coronation Day.
I'll stand corrected, but I'm sure the PO isn't open on a Sunday. This weekend has been an exception because of the holidays.
So, beware going tomorrow. I think it, together with all government offices and banks will be closed.
Our posts crossed, Gregjam.

I have had the same problem in the past. Be sure to print a copy of the EMS tracking information you have and present it to them---asking them where it is? Oh, this will get you some looks but you have them nailed and they know it and will be forced to find it. Next they will tell you they have it after locating it on their computer also. Now you have to tell them that you are there to pick it up PLEASE.

Good Luck.

Just an update.....

Went back to Post Office at 10am this morning.....

They had already delivered it this morning.....

Guess I should have checked my mailbox before I went to Post Office....

But can not fault their service.....
