C'mon, lets get real here. He hardly stumbled across this site by accident, did he? A new thread starts and whoosh, he's straight in here dealing with queries on behalf of his business.
The OP posted a website for the owner
I would not be surprised if the OP told them of the forum
SO
C'mon, lets get real here its hardy surprising he is checking to see if his business is being reported fairly
It is also sensible to answer the questions raised by those that either have or have not been to the website posted in the OP but then chose to ask questions on this forum

He had already been politely advised to advertise on this site on a couple of occasions and then Lev jumps in bluntly telling him that self promotion is not permitted. Balloon man has never once mentioned prices or hours of business and I will reiterate that he didn't start this thread.

Has this Forum become more concerned about advertising revenue than answering members questions about safety?
The owner of the business is using this forum to raise awareness of it, our rules are very very simple; if business owners wish to use this forum to promote themselves in any way, shape or form they need to be professional about it and advertise. We do not ask for much but some of you begrudge us just that.
Homer wrote:Perhaps the mods should take a step back and ask themselves who creates the content that brings eyeballs to the site. It's the forum users. We do it for free. Why is our safety less important than some potential ad revenue from a company that has already chosen other forms of marketing?
Yes Homer, this forum would come tumbling down without your precious free input - however we PAY to keep this site online, and we WORK hard keeping it here so again, why is it so much to ask other BUSINESS PEOPLE that are making money out of YOU, via OUR website, to give a little BACK.

Those that don't like the way this forum is managed are welcome to leave it, and those that are so concerned about their safety should use a little common sense and contact the business directly instead of nattering about it on a public forum.

So if you own a business and are also a member on here and OTHER MEMBERS ask questions about your business, you are not allowed to answer those questions as a member until you pay for that right? It sounds like all members will have to settle for everyone else's own personal knowledge , misinformation or opinions on question asked until the owners of the forum receive there fee from the business/member in question. Once business/member in question pays up its small fee, then it's fine for them to answer the questions being asked by the forum members.

The forums are not a venue for self business promotions in any way. It will be the sole discretion of HuaHinForum and its moderators as to what constitutes an advertisement,

I for one wish you and the company well for the future and think that the balloon is a welcome addition to the attractions in Hua Hin. Thanks for your clear answers.

If our Admin will allow it, I am curious to know who makes up the majority of your passengers, Thai or farang?

I mostly try to avoid such controversial issues but.......

If I had a business here in Hua-Hin, and someone started a thread which led to people asking questions, I too would feel obliged to answer those questions. Of course I could simply respond with a reply like " see our website for further details" but that too could be seen as self promotion.

Maybe, as a small gesture of appreciation Alex, you could ask/persuade your boss to officially advertise on the forum. :D

Personally, I think advertising on here is dirt cheap considering the amount of potential traffic/customers it could potentially generate. In fact, I believe a single adult ticket for a balloon ride would pay for a month's advertising, so not a bad deal at all really.

I know it's not your doing, but just as an example, I will be going for a ride in your the balloon, together with some (or all) of my family, and only because I heard about this on the forum. Just some food for thought before everyone starts reaching for the heavy artillery........ :thumb: :thumb:

I went to have a look a few days ago and I was quite impressed. There is a nice playground for kids, the restaurant facility's are very good inside and out. Nice and tidy. The food and beer prices very reasonable and even Singha on tap.
The park is owned by a Russian guy ( Konstantin ) who was there when I visited. The pilot and the fellow who is looking after the photo and video studio are also Russian.
They are flying only in the mornings and late afternoons, I was told by one of staff. There is a promotion going at the moment and morning flights are priced at 150 baht for kids and 300 for adults.
If you want a photo taken there 200 baht. If you want a edited movie in HD your DVD about your heroics the cost is staggering 6600 baht! There is cheaper versions as well. Looking at their camera equipment the quality is surely there.
The owner must have invested a small fortune in this venture and I wish him well. For decades I have said never to set foot in these things but since our ten year old girl is very keen I might have to have a go. After all I am a bit of basket case.
Cheers

Just heard pretty much the same story off my mate.

He took his 2 yr old there the other day and he was very impressed with the setup. It was a bit windy that day and the owners said it was not safe to raise the balloon, so I guess any concerns that they are putting profit before safety can be allayed.

I went there early in the afternoon and of course they were not flying at that time. There is also a BBQ and buffet every Friday and Saturday from 3.30 till 6 pm for 179 baht. If it is as good as the surroundings it will be well worth trying.
As for flying the thing I am willing to have go. If there is a forum member ready to try it in the basket with me I am ready. You might have to hold my hand, that is the drawback.
I have nothing to do with this business so don't start throwing stones at me, please. I just think that the park is well operated and I think people should have look at it.

There is weekly Thursday (5.30 pm - 10.00 pm) theme parties and dinners with BBQ Bar, Thai food bar, veg, spring rolls and smth else for 179 THB. Also they do weekly Friday afternoon (3.30 pm - 6.00 pm) Buffet for kids and parents for the same price (kids 5-10 y.o. for 100 THB).
