Anyone know the best place in Bangkok to purchase women's biking clothing?
Thanks,

Before I comment on my own previous post.... is anyone up for a bike run this weekend?
:D

Ok so I managed to visit Paddock (http://www.paddock.co.th/2013/en.html) in Bangkok this past Monday and fortunately in my favour it was not closed for the public holiday.
I must say I was pleasantly impressed with the range of motorcycle jackets, bottoms and suits.

Getting there:
The Paddock store is located in the Din Daeng area of Bangkok.
I arrived in Swarnabhumi after a long-haul flight from Europe so was looking at the quickest route available.
Typing 'Paddock Bangkok' in Google Maps pinpoints the shop exactly and provides directions, distances and times for driving by car (taxi) and train. A car journey is stated as ~30 minutes and train ~1 hour. I opted for the quicker taxi which cost me about 250thb.. I think...
Anyone reading this and wants to try and find the store by train then aim for the 'Huai Khwang' Station and simply walk the few hundred meters to the store location. See photos below.

Products:
Plan on spending a couple hours at the store if you're picky about what you wear because the range of jackets is impressive. Check out their website for further information but I particularly liked the Alpinestars range. The womens range is also surprisingly good which is bonus considering that's what we required (I've brought most of all my gear from the U.K.).
The range of boots is not bad and I'm sure you would find something to fill your requirements even though perhaps your favourite model is not available. Plenty gloves to choose from but lacking I thought on the helmet selection although they did stock several Shoes as well as cheaper brands.

Prices:
This is Thailand, don't compare with back home. Import levies are high so expect to pay far more than Europe/U.S. Check out the website for prices.

Comments:

As I have not visited other Bangkok stores at this stage I cannot compare selection or price however this is probably your place in Thailand for Motorcycle clothing. For Helmets - try and buy a good brand back home if that is an option otherwise shop around Bangkok. It has been noted in previous posts that the selection of good quality helmets is very poor in Hua Hin.

The staff were typically sabai-sabai-Thai so don't expect to walk in and find a motorcycle clothing guru that will point you in the right direction. Do your own research on what you need before you go spending a lot of satang.
For me there is no trade-off between price/quality and gravel rash or anything more serious.

There are several parts of the store so check them all out before you buy. It appears to be different brands in the different shops and one just for footwear. One section was 'Outlet' so cash only, similar to Macro (I'm not sure what this is all about..??). You might want to take cash just in case the jacket you like happens to be in the outlet section.

Mrs. GN is now quite proudy and happily sponsoring a very nice Alpinestars jacket, Komine trousers and a some rather sexy size-5 Sidi boots. I on the other hand need to get back to work again to pay for it all.... pang mak!
She does look damn hot in the outfit though.... especially in the 30degC Thai sunshine... :P

After Paddock we took the 15 minute taxi ride to the Truimph dealership (http://www.britbike.co.th/Triumph_Motor ... GLISH.html) located in the RCA area of Bangkok however it was closed due to the holiday....
Ahh well next time because I l*ve the Triple Roadsters

P.S. The 'Streetview' in Google Maps is in the wrong position. See the photo below for the correct view.

Have to agree with ginja Paddock has by far the largest selection of riding gear of any shop that i have found in BKK. Also agree the prices are astronomical. So high on clothing that i only ever bought two pairs of gloves there. But I did get a very good deal on a pair of Metzler Sportec M3 tires for the CBR929 @ under 9000 baht for the pair... great tires by the way  came as OEM fitment on my Aprilia 750 Shiver that i had just prior to moving here. I think it may have been the last few sets that they had as I wanted to buy another set, buy they do not seem to carry them any more.

Nice report - only one problem for me though; and that is I ride to get a break from the mrs so the last thing I'd want is her on the back! :duck:

With all the bike enthusiasts here we may need a HHAD bike club.

I will be relocating here early next year, have already scoped out a replacement for my K1600GTL... Sad thing is it is double the cost of my current one... Duties, taxes and all of the other cost associated with the purchase.. I will bring all of our riding gear when we move. Glad I stumbled onto this thread!!!

Hi Boz,
welcome to the forum. Please feel free to ask as many questions... we will endevour to help.
Are you looking to replace your K1600GTL with another Beamer? Would be interested to know what you're looking at.
Yeah very expensive in Thailand for anything imported. I purchased a Ninja 650 which was actually built in Thailand so saved myself a fair packet... great bike for a novice like myself.

Thanks for the good news
I noticed the Motoaholic and Kawasaki logos there in the beginning of march when we did a bike run to Prachuap, but at that time they where still building. So I was not sure whether it would be a full featured Motoaholic shop or not.
I will look forward to go there instead of BKK for service and maintenance.

Hopefully this will also mean more Kawasaki riders in this area.

If anybody needs the exact location on google map it is:

If you like the european big bikes I can recommend PS bike in Bang Bon close to Rama2, father and son are bikers and do a great service, not limited to shop opening hours.

Panda Rider in BKK has moved to a new location and have a nice selection of accessories. Unfortunately the shop is very dark inside. Its not lack of light, its the design.

Guy, thanks for the pointers, yeah I will be looking to get another Beemer GTL... Was my first Beemer and let me tell you it is the most amazing ride I have ever seen or ridden... Ungodly power and torque handles like a sport bike but weighs north of 360KG... Great 2up machine for sure.... Looking forward to riding around here and meeting you guys for some outings... Today in the States my wife and I do 500KM days and enjoy the bike as much as possible... I will try and upload a picture of the beast if I can...

A bit late now, but it will be on again. Not sure which channel on True Visions TV last night a really good documentary on "MV Augusta" motor bikes. The history of the company, the present manufacturing factory and the brilliant designer behind the bikes. Also, part of it showed a huge collection of all the previous models. :thumb:
