Not sure what the deal is at the moment. 1000 a month seems to buy a 1 or 2mb connection for adsl but what i'm interested in is a wireless connection over the mobile phone network.
I'm told hutch has the best speed and ais has the worst speed.

starts at 190baht a month but only 30mb so only good for checking email now and then with each following mb cost something like 25baht.
so pretty useless really.

if you buy their usb aircard for 4400 you get speeds of 150kb/sec which is 3 times faster than dial up(or 10 times slower than adsl) for unlimitied use for 999 a month. that's ok for browsing

Hey Buksida, or anyone for that matter

I've a TOT line in Cha Am. TOT tell me that no ADSL is avaliable in that area at present.

Any thoughts how I can get High Spped internet for a reasonable cost?

Thanks for your help

I don't have any personal experience with Hutch or ADSL in Cha-am unfortunately.

I know a couple of people that use Hutch wireless and say its about dial-up speed but quite handy if you're away from a landline.

I would approach TT&T or CAT in Cha-am although you may need to change phone lines. Satellite is an option, there are a couple of threads in this section on it.

Good luck with that, I've noticed that new subscribers are put onto a better package for the first month and then downgraded to the one that runs slightly faster than a 14.4k modem a while later.

Theres only one thing I can say about TT&T, and this is after working in the internet business in Hua Hin for the previous 6 years and that is ...

I second that completely buksi.
I've had TT&T DSL Compax 512 for more than 2 years now, and it's nothing but crap!!
Ever tried to watch a movie or video-report online?

In my opinion all providers are very close to fraud because you NEVER get what you pay for.

interesting observations about tt&t, tks, will have an eye on it.

the package came with the condo, all the units got a modem, but I think I'm the only one in the whole compound using it.

maybe they supply a higher bandwith for a whole condo?

will keep you posted, but the first experience had been: aaaaah!

what a speed compared to bangkok.
