Hi again,

Need also to say how long you have known the girl.

Turbaned Heathrow gave her and me sh*t about how we met, where we met, could we speak the same language. At that point the Yorkshire in me nearly exploded. I bit my tongue and refrained from saying ' I come from Bradford and she has Indian great great grand parents so we communicate in Hindu'

That just goes to prove the inconsistencies of the British Embassy. A friend of mine's girlfriend had her application turned down a few weeks ago because she declared that she was a mother. The grounds were stated something like, if she's prepared to leave her child in a relative's care whilst on holiday, how could they be sure she would return to Thailand at all.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

I thought that point might have got easier these days - obviously not. 10 years ago, my ex was applying and was turned down three times - the last even with my MP's backing.
When I came over, I insisted on seeing The Embassy and they wheeled The Entry Clearance Director out for me. The ex had 3 kids and the same excuse was used as BB says when I brought it up as a reason to return. I think there was also an element of "if we let her over and later they get married and apply for settlement, we'll have 3 more kids in the UK as well".

I guess it's like all red tape and depends on the mood of the officer in charge.

We should all be used to it now here in LOS

Certainly when I got my wife through there was a Thai there to interrogate her and was asked if I was supporting her son financially

I guess the swing in my situation is that I used to work for the Foreign Office. Don't really know though, but as the saying goes 'It's not what you know but who you know'
