So if Thaiwaii has been closed for over a year, where exactly did Richard have his pizza?

OK, the picture was misleading. The place is about half way up 80 from Petcha. It's on the left hand side opposite where the abysmal Indian place was. The Indian still has the sign outside but you can't miss the place as it's well lit with signs advertising hotdogs to pizza.

Had the 10 inch wide 'hot, hot' last night and tonight I will consume the other half which I had to take away.

Staff very attentive and friendly and ask your name and where you come from and was the meal to your liking. They also fall over themselves to apologise if they have a run on as they cook the pizza to order.

Enjoy

Virtually opposite the newish Indian is Bon Apettit mentioned earlier in this thread. I had one there last week, very nice too. And yes the Thai owners v friendly, his name Oats or similar!

Inbetween Eagle Bar and Red Light Bar but more than halfway down, closer to Railway end. Was that the one ? :thumb:

Went with dad to Bon Appetit last night, it takes him a while to deicde what he wants, he said to Ot (i think that is the owners name) that he didnt like thin crust, Ot says no problem I will make you a thicker crust for you......how good is that!!!
Anyway we had 2 great pizzas and good enertainment. 1 friend joined is and ordered Spag Bol (my mate is a food lover of Italian decent) he rates it as one of the best, and a big bowl for 150 baht.
I havent tried most of the menu yet but gonna have to soon!
Top place to eat :)

Friend had the BEEF burger..Best in town

Think he's gonna need to extend as his clientele is growing

Also noticed he does a fair number of take aways and deliveries to soi 80 bars

To be fair, Johnnie, I'd expect a burger made of minced pork, not a slice of ham.
This is the way

In Thai terms there's

A Beef burger (minced beef)
A Pork burger (minced pork) and
A Ham burger (sliced ham)

Probably a Dog and Buffalo burger too :naughty:

Went last night to try his F&C but alas he had no fish. 'No problem' Ot said. 'Wait 10 minutes OK?' Disappeared off out to get some fresh fish. Said he'd got it from near the pier. Fish and chips duly served up in 15 minutes total. Fish was good but breaded, chips were standard frozen chips and accompanied by a nice side salad. Good value for 80bht

Talked with Ot about his following on HHF which he seemed to know about and when asked whether he would expand with his rapidly growing trade. He was erring on the side of caution as staffing based on his previous experience would be the problem. He said initially it would probably provide some part time employment in the evenings

Back on the burger front it is as hinted by me above. Menu says Beef burger, pork burger, club burger (whatever that is) and hams burger with cheese

Large bunch of Thai ladies in there scoffing pizza and spaghetti seafood dishes. During our stay at least 4 take aways were delivered by motorbike somewhere.

Only downside was my sore bum as no cushions on the rigid wooden seats. Mentioned it to the lady (Ot's wife?) who politely said 'ask for one next time you come'.

Can't fault the place. Ot is eager to know your name and appeared at out table twice during the meal to ask if all was OK. Long may it continue to be a good food venue.

Incidentally Ot said he does not like to keep fish on the premises longer than 2 days and prefers to go out to get fresh fish providing the customer waits.

That is a good sign, too many restaurants try to stretch the days

I guess most of you may already know this place, but last night we went to Luciano Pizza Garden at the top of soi 94. Excellent food, and great service from happy friendly staff. Will certainly be re-visiting there. :thumb:
