Husband has moved on to Thai partners and I have just returned here to find a letter telling me that I cannot continue with a small building project on the property we jointly own as I do not have my husbands written permission. I must also take down everything that has been done so far! I need a lawyer urgently to discuss my options. The firm that sponsors this site cannot help .Does anyone has a company to recommend preferably here but could be in Bangkok.
Than you
Help lawyer needed
Re: Help lawyer needed
Hi Lizzy, sorry to hear about your problem. I'm not able to recommend a lawyer since I've never needed one, but you might find there's a cheaper and simpler option, depending on whether your husband is Thai or Farang, and depending on who drew up that letter you've mentioned.
As far as I know only the courts, and maybe the Tessabaan have the authority to tell you to take down what has already been built. If the letter is from the Tessabaan, my guess is the problem could be made to go away providing you go and see them with a "savvy" Thai person, and just to show what a good person you are, be sure to take some baht with you for refreshments.
