Airtight Preserve Jars

Post by TomTom55 »

Hello all. I am interested in storing some goodies and need an airtight preserve jar, ideally one with a seal and the clamping mechanism. Can anybody direct to place that may sell these and at what price? Thanks in advance

Thank you Dannie boy, I shall be making a trip to Macro soon then. I hope they are not crazily expensive, I would assume they wouldn't be anymore than 300-400฿ maximum.. I hope

I'm sure they are much less than that - I bought some screw top jars there for about 50 baht which I know are cheaper, but can't imagine them being much more that 100 baht.

You haven't said what size? I use a variety of glass preserving jars. As DB says they are cheap. The only problem I find is the rubber seals perish after a few months. It's a problem for others too apparently because often seals are missing. Check before you buy.

There are issues with the seals are there, thanks for the heads up, I will make sure to check that they are included before I purchase. I probably am looking to get 450ml and 900ml jars. Did you get yours from Makro as well?

No.

1. Up the escalator, in the supermarket section of the old Department Store, in the middle of town
2. The jars section in Homepro in Market Village.
3. 'G' supermarket next to the railway crossing (Soi 55), left side as you go in the entrance, next to the pet food.

O cool that saves me a journey then, can you give any information on prices and sizes before I head out MrPlum?

I use 3 sizes.

1 lt
1.5 lt
2 lt

Prices are something like 69 baht, 79 and 89 baht. It's been a while since I bought, though.
