Thanks for the reminder on that but I'll be OK.
Must admit that all the dealings I've had with passport renewals in the past have been easy. Travel never complicated any timing and so on.
At least this thread and the replies have reminded me of a number of issues that I shan't forget in the future.
Re-entering Thailand with new passport
Re: Re-entering Thailand with new passport
All relevant info and forms for renewing UK passports can be found here https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports/y ... _new/adult Although more importantly I did read somewhere else on the site that in the near future (maybe next year?) all passports would be done directly through the UK.
Big Boy asked a question, maybe slightly off topic about wife and lines for passport checks at airports.
My first experience of this was on honeymoon, from Saudi to Cypress. Stood in the long Non UK line with my Canadian wife while the UK line was empty. A passport official asked why and went on to inform me that as a British citizen I had every right to use the UK line with my non UK wife.
I have never looked back, many times we have entered the UK both when using LHR & LGW, only a slight delay to the queue as the have to enter passport details manually, before stamping her passport, mine just gets scanned and no stamp.

In that case, I might just chance the UK line and risk the wrath of the people behind me.
Thanks for the link.

You'd better hope that it's not an early morning arrival at Heathrow - you could get your 5 minutes of fame for causing a riotlomuamart wrote:In that case, I might just chance the UK line and risk the wrath of the people behind me.

I don't know about a visit visa, but you can enter with your wife using the UK queue if she has settlement / ILR.

If you're fortunate enough to be travelling Business Class, any nationality can use the Fast Track line.
