Re: Stanley Cup final
Didn't see a single match, too tough to get up 3 a.m. but I'll echo the others, would have loved to see Boston win.

Re: Stanley Cup final
Canadian boys grow up playing hockey with fantasies of winning the cup. Two boys played together on the same bantam (13-14 years old) team in Toronto. Last night Brian Bickell tied the game with 1'15" to go. Seventeen seconds later Dave Bolland won it for the Hawks.
How good is that?
An amazing finish to a great series.

These guys are tough.
Patrice Bergeron cracked a rib and tore the cartilage in Game 5. He played in Game 6, got a separated shoulder as a bonus and played on.
In 2010 Duncan Keith stopped a shot with his face that knocked out seven (7!) teeth. He spit out two, one stuck in his throat and the others disintegrated. He went to the room and was back on the ice playing full shifts 10 minutes later.
Different from Cristiano Ronaldo diving and writhing when his fingernail gets chipped.

Boston goalie, Tuukka Rask has signed a new contract worth 7.000.000 USD per year. The contract is for eight years. Last year his salary was 3.500.000 USD and he risked by signing just a one year contract a year ago. Obviously it was worth it.

I agree he is worth top dollar but it can become an albatross contract. Vancouver badly wanted to trade Luongo and he wanted to go but he has about 6 years and $35 million left on his contract. They had to trade the 7 years younger Schneider because they could not keep two goalies @ combined 9.5 million.Bamboo Grove wrote:Boston goalie, Tuukka Rask has signed a new contract worth 7.000.000 USD per year. Fun fact BG: Roberto Luongo and the great MartinBrodeur grew up in the neighbourhood next to my childhood neighbourhood.

Ok, I'll make it even steven: Tuukka Rask is from a town where I studied in a university for 4 years in early 80's.
