It is obvious you have never been there.
Castle Stuart is located on the edge of the Moray Firth.
Which is an estuary; a long narrow inlet of the sea.

Predicting any winner these days is best left to 'spin the bottle'. No-one stands out.bonnielass wrote:Mr P, the odds are in favour of Woods; this seems strange in view of his record at Muirfield, where he carded his worst score ever as a Pro.

Well bonnielass we are down to the final stretch
Lee needs a 70 (I just hope he can do it) having gone one shot better against Tiger yesterday his confidence should be high
As the best score of 66 on day one has not been equaled and -3 being the score that has been the best on days 2 &3, Westwood with a 2 shot lead and a 70 today The followers MUST shoot 68s to get a play off
Mahan was out early yesterday being out later today just isnt so easy
Its Tiger Vs Adam that is the intriguing game though there is no love lost so it will be interesting to see if they push their games up or get to tense and collapse
Phil is i am afraid going to have to hit a 66 to get a play off or the leaders all collapse
I hope as i said Westwood does come through though because he will never get a better chance

Bugger and he had the confidence to predict it yesterday!

A number of good predictions by those who voted for Mickelson to win it (and a few who wrote him off), with Sarge suggesting that he would need to score 66 today (which he did) and for Westwood and others to fall away (which they did).
What with Froome winning the Tour de France and England winning the 2nd Test, a good day for sports lovers

Behave. Had everyone picked 6 'favourites', we would all have chosen Lefty, Woods, Scott and Westwood. McIlroy was out due to the clubs change and too much concentration on the lob wedge in his trousers. Donald and McDowell haven't been showing any form.
Nice to see Phil win with 'the round of my life', after his U.S. Open disappointments. Thought his career was virtually over after his arthritis problems.

Re: Favourite to win the Open at Muirfield
MrP you picked WoodsMy personal bet is Adam Scott he now has the specter of last years defeat to Ernie behind him and a major Trophy in his wardrobe he will be full of confidence and determined to go one better and last year showed he could play links golf
My other picks were those i would like to see win
I said i did not expect Westwood or poulter to win but all my picks stuffed Tiger except Rose and Els and as i said it was a huge ask for Ernie
Head to Head with Tiger he got stuffed by Lee Westwood in the third round and then by Adam Scott in the final round

Re: Favourite to win the Open at Muirfield
Sorry wasn't around to reply, been glued to the TV every day.
Well done guys - Flying Scotsman you hit it on the nose.
And Sarge, you had a pretty good handle on who would be up there.
It was clear to see from the start Ernie just wasn't in the zone. Bit of a shocker for Donald, Rose and McIlroy to miss the cut.
Poor Tiger, I actually felt sorry for him. The midas touch has gone and he knows it. His mood changes are a bit of a puzzle. Day 3 he was chatting and laughing with Westwood during the round. Yesterday his face was like thunder all day.
Westwood choked as predicted - his driving yesterday was erratic.
5 bogeys and only 1 birdie on the final day was never going to cut it.
Poulter's charge was inspiring to watch, that man has great untapped potential.
Very pleased to see Mickelson get his Open win, he is generally a nice guy, (tho' he almost blotted his copy book with his whining after the first day.)
Just wish I had been there to enjoy the atmosphere and the sunshine.
Made me very homesick as Gullane was my home turf as a youngster.
Not the golf course obviously......
Cheers

The only player i felt sorry for was Martin Laird i was cheering him on until he landed in some exceptionally deep do dos and had 9 5 over on one hole
