Passport Photo Machines

Post by TomTom55 »

I know that Kodak have the service where you sit and can get passport photographs taken, I have used the service many times before, but do the booths still exist where you simply insert money, sit and get your print outs? The ones normally found in shopping malls or super markets?

Never seen any of these machines in Thailand. You find them in Holland at every train station. Note: In Holland pictures from these do-it-yourself machines are not accepted for passports because of quality issues. If that is your intention anyway.
We are all living in 'the good old days' of the future.

If you need photos, then in Thailand many of the little processing outlets will do passport type 'head' shots. Usually printed to photo paper using a small, low quality printer but some places are better. I got a single sheet with 16 of varying sizes in the basement of Robinson on Sukhumvit a couple of years back and they passed muster for the UK Passport office. Not sure of anyplace in Hua Hin but the Thais will know. If you show them something similar - such as the one in your passport, they will probably give you an idea where to find them. Many of the border crossings have them by the dozen because of the visa requirements for the neighbouring countries - ask a tuk tuk driver.
Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....
