I'd like to add a steel security door to my condo unit:

It is not the same as the welded doors with rifle-bolt/padlock-hasp type of door with attachable fly screens that is ubiquitous in Thailand. Instead of a screen the door is actually a steel mesh, and the door has a normal door knob and deadbolt lock.
I asked once before and was told Kanyong (in Pattaya) had them. They didn't, so I gave up my quest. Now that I may be moving back into my condo I'm pursuing it again. Anybody seen one of these for sale in Thailand?
Have you tried asking at the Hua-Hin police station? As far as I know they have a few holding cells there so should be able to point you in the right direction.

We had these fitted last week. They have a substantial security lock fitted. This could have easily been the type of door knob/lock you have described, but it wouldn't have been siutable for our purpose i.e. wooden doors have to close on it, so the knob would have got in the way. We phoned them, and they came out the same day. They gave us price, and they were fitted 6 days later. I can provide details if necessary.

BigBoy: Are those removable mosquito screens? I want a solid steel mesh that can't be cut or pushed in. I prefer a single-cylinder deadbolt, but if they can reach in and just turn the knob, it's not very secure.
As far as telling a local metal shop, I'm not sure I can explain in English the type of steel mesh opening I want, much less to a Thai in Thai. One site described it as 24-gauge perforated steel, if that helps make a clearer image?

Yes, the mosquito screens are removable. However, on mine as already stated, there is no knob to turn, only a keyhole. Do you need the lock incorporated into the door knob? If they are that determined, they're only going to drill the lock out anyway.
No need to drill the lock, two minutes with an angle grinder (The Thai version of a Swiss Army Knife) and any resistance the screen may have provided is gone.
I guess I wouldn't need a lock on the knob, since a deadbolt would do the trick. It's just that if they can tear the screen and reach in and unlock it, what's the point? Having a dual-cylinder deadbolt is just a little more of a P.I.T.A for me. A simple door like I want and all that is moot. They are very common in the USA, but apparently not at all in Thailand?

I only use these sort of screen doors as security when I'm at home, I have a wooden door I close when I'm out, so I imagine that the noise of someone attacking them with an angle grinder might alert me to the fact that someone is trying to break in!
As nice as your doors are, Big Boy, alas they aren't what I'm looking for. I don't want a dual-cylinder (keys on both sides) lock nor do I want removable fly screens. From the feedback so far, it appears that what I want is not available in Thailand.
Oh well, too bad, so sad... time to give up yet another fantasy.
No, that's fine - I was only trying to suggest options. However, with the options you've been given (not that far away from what you actually want), I certainly wouldn't be giving up. It must be quite easy to customise the available options to give you exactly what you need. You just need to get out there and explain your requirements - Thais can be quite innovative..
