Okay Skate Shop

Post by TomTom55 »

Greetings all, I am 25 and I use to skate a lot when I was 12-17 (skateboarding). I remember about a year or 2 ago I went into that Skate shop near soi 55 called 'Okay Skate Shop' and recently decided I want to buy a deck. I know some decent places around HH to skate but I went there this morning and could not fin the place! Has it been sold and replaced with a new shop? Has anybody seen skateboards being sold anywhere else in HH? In before 'go to Bangkok' :p

Hi Tom Tom

Where do you skate in Hua Hin? Just curious?

I used to Longboard in Hyde Park with the 'Old Boys' 40 to 50! Great Mid life crisis!

Loaded Dervish, Paris trucks & Orangatangs. Amazing board which I still use when Im feeling brave on Plymouth Hoe!

Buying on Line may be easier if you know what you want?

In Hua Hin there are not a lot of places but if you have a motorbike it is easy to drive around looking for spots. One place is if you go up from Burger King to the traffic lights and then straight up across the intersection, on your left there is an area to skate. Opposite that there is a car park where you can skate.

Another place I have found is that are the town uses for concerts and festivals if you turn right after the Kings Palace and head down the side roads, next to the beach. That has a huge open space.

I still need to look around properly but before that I need a new deck. I use to skate with someone called Ben Nordberg from time to time in Bath England, he is now in America and sponsored by flip and all kinds of companies.

But yea I think either ordering online (I already looked and the shipping is like $90) so unless somebody can provide an online outlet from Bangkok I guess I will need to travel up there to get myself a decent setup.

haha did you ever have a dent on the passenger side? I joke, I have never caused any damage to a car in there. We normally used it when it was pretty much empty and normally the top floor, but across the road in that space is a really good place to skate, people on bikes also use it some times. But now there is no skate shop in HH there will be less skaters (maybe a good thing for you older folk :D )
