How many times did you get pulled over? I think you said your bike doesn't have a plate yet. Pete

Re: Using GPS on a bike/riding through Bangkok
Did the whole thing using Street View - pulled up the route the day before and just memorised what the junctions looked like and what lane to be in.
Took a couple of wrong turns so just pulled over, got the phone out, connected to Google Maps to work out where I was and found a way of getting back on course.
The worst stretch was Santiwong Road as it is a construction site. Being on a bike makes things easier though as you can just 'thread the needle' through the traffic.
Only saw one cop on a Tiger Boxer on one of the over-passes that technically bikes are not allowed on, but blew past him at about 140 so there was no way he'd give chase!

What was your top speed? Did you get the chance to stretch it out?buksida wrote:Only saw one cop on a Tiger Boxer on one of the over-passes that technically bikes are not allowed on, but blew past him at about 140 so there was no way he'd give chase!

I wouldn't have to manage my anger if people could learn to mange their stupidity!

Do bikes have engine break in periods, or is that a thing of the past? Pete

I've had it up to 155, there's plenty more to go.
Yes, the mechanics told me to keep it under 7000 revs for the first 500kms, kept it under 6000 for the first thousand though.

Glad it all worked out but I'm with BB and wouldn't have contemplated it without GPS. I look forward to seeing a few bike movies, perhaps with you blowing past some rozzers on your new speed machine!!
