All is well so far. 1st months takings as expected. About 25k profit for the shop, after costs, extras not included. The girls have created a good atmosphere and customers running between 7 and 10 a day.

Either the customer count is wrong or the cost of a massage is too little!

I guess it's like in all business, if you have a partner you can trust it is no problem. If not, you will get screwed. I have no experience from doing business in Thailand, but be prepared to loose the money.

sounds like a good return. 70k investment, 12k a month return (50% owner) = 144k a year, so payback time of less than 6 months. Even if you allow 70k a year for refurb and other extras, that would still be a payback of 1 year and a ROCE far far higher than any normal investment. oh, and the odd pipe cleaning, which I don't seem to recall any listed investment mentioning in the prospectus :-)

Sorry mate I just can't believe those figures, the shop does not get the "extras" that only goes to the girls.

1. yes you can buy shares up to 49%, the question is: how much is the part of the company which you get for it

I would assume it is only a small part for 70.000 THB, this will only give you a small share of the profit anyway.

(if 70.000 bath would be a large share, let say 40%, and it is a profitbale business, than very likely those who hold the majority share will not allow you to buy this 40% for such a small amount, knowing that they have to share 40% of all profit with you. In that case they would just set up a new company they own 100% themselves and keep all the profit themselves)

2. anyway, if you want to check the daily income, you need to work with a system of numbered receipts. When customer orders massage, a receipt is written with time of arrival. the owner can pop in the store anytime and check if receipts are written for all customers inside the place. Numbered receipts make sure that it can only be used 1 time. It is not waterproof but works

if you need a lawyer, find on this winvasia webiste a lit of 100 lawyers in Thailand. You will need one as all documents are in thai. http://www.winvasia.com/business_category/lawyers/

good luck

sorry. The extras are additional non-cash payments to me that don't go on the books. As a man, you'll understand.

It is still good fun and we now have 6 ladies working, ready for high season. A new one started today. That is 4 good lookers and two more experienced ladies, who give excellent massages. The more attractive girls will be whisked away by customers for short or long time holiday fun, so the older ladies are needed to step in. Pay day tomorrow and there should be a little extra this month. Daily takings are 1500-2000, based on average of 200 thb per customer. Might put in an extra massage bed, since the shop is becoming more well known and popular. The girls have a great routine to draw passing customers. Single men don't stand a chance. It is not just the ritual "Massage, Sir!?" You can have a beer with attractive company after your massage or come and sit and eat or just enjoy the banter. Everyone comments on what a great team they are.

The '4-Hands' massage and Body scrubs have recently been added to the menu. Female customers seem to enjoy them. Me too. They can't see the peep-hole. :naughty:

There has been no company formation. A written agreement has been signed by two Thais. If that isn't enough, I don't really care. I can't see the other partner going it alone out of greed but I can see it happening out of necessity. If she isn't making enough, then good luck to her. Same, if she fiddles the books. The money will go towards her kids, schooling and family. The experience has already been worth every penny and I am not on skid row.

Sorry. Can't give the name or location of the shop. Might advertise on here if the moderators let me know how to do it. Would it be worthwhile for a massage shop? I tend to find word of mouth is enough.

The problem is that you can't walk 50 yards/metres in the main part of HH without passing a massage shop and often 2-3 almost next to each other, so outside of high season there aren't enough punters to keep them all going. Offering something different as Calvin has mentioned, might just be enough to generate the extra interest needed to make it a going concern. I used to enjoy going for a message, but alas these days I'm restricted to having a woman come to my house once a week (so that my wife can supervise) :-|
