Prices

Post by Stormy »

I am staying at the Anatara hotel next June and have read a lot of the stuff on here about it and a lot says it is expensive, but how expensive. Would really appreciate if someone could tell me how much i will pay for a drink, meal, bottle of wine, massage - You see i am a student and getting a bit nervous about what this is gonna cost me.
Also i will be with my girlfriend and does anyone know where i can take her thats maybe got a DJ / dance floor but isnt too seedy (she is fairly prudish)

Stormy

Hi Stormy,

If you have ASDL (for e-mail) or a fax number that you can PM me I will send you a copy of my last bill ( (April).

Regardless of cost, the food is some of the best I have had in SE Asia - but is on a par with UK, pricewise.

Typical Dinner (for two) 2,500 (cheapest) to 4,000(odd) baht for two people - ordinary food and not top of the range.

In HH town you can get a great meal for a fraction of this price (try Orchids), or turn right on the beach from Anantara and walk 2 minutes to White Sands.

I can however thoroughly recommend the food in the Anantara's "Rim Nam" (poolside and cheapest) restaurant. (2500 to 3000) Baht.

You will enjoy the Anantara and it doesn't have to be expensive!

For ordinary massage (not spa stuff) once again turn right on the beach walk 1 minute to massage salas. 300 baht 1 hour or 400 for oil. Perfectly respectable for myself or my wife - but my advice is to choose the pretty one anyway (some of the others are thugs!). My wife enjoys spa treatments (from Bali to Brighton!) but refused to pay Anantara prices.

/Peter
