'Guest' friendy central/beach hotels

Post by stjames1892 »

Hi,
I am looking to visit Hua Hin at the end of August, and would like to stay in a central or beach hotel that ih happy to accomodate 'guests' (bar girls). Ideally a good quality hotel (eg - Hilton), on the beach. Any recomendations ????
Thanks !

Try Hilton or Sofitel a few nights and explore the city/coast for cheaper/better/other alternatives -there are lots of choices! A tutk tuk ride or bus service(10B) takes you from the city center all the 4-5 km south to Takiab.

The Hilton look s a fine building.

I wouldn't mind staying there but I suspect it would cost an arm and a leg.

Hotels

Most places are Guest freindly the larger Hotels they may require your guest to leave ID with reception and charge a additional fee small fee

The Id is for your own security which is not a bad thing !

I agree,

There are many places around. Maybe chill out in luxury at the Hilton for a couple of days and shop around

On the ID front make sure she carries it at all times and make sure that you carry your passport. The old bill are getting tough here now

I carry a photocopy of mine.
Not carrying my passport around with me when out drinking.
Bad enough losing anything but your passport would be a nightmare.

OK,

Rumours are afoot that copies have to authenticated by the embassy

God, let's hope that stays a rumour, Richard!!

Talk about being stuck between a rock & a hard place: Getting pulled by the men in brown for not having your actual passport on you, only an unauthenticated copy; or having your passport stolen/lost and having to get a new one & get your visa replaced! Which one is the worse option??!

Having had both the latter is definitely the worse, and more costly.

The MiB are fine if you're polite to them and can speak enough Thai to explain, once they know you live here they'll leave you alone, usually a Thai drivers license is enough proof for them ... if that fails I bring out the press card which sends them scattering!
