Yes, another exellent night.huahinjim wrote:Thanks Steve - another great quiz.![]()
And thanks to JWs staff - good service as always
I'm pleased to say that our team had a much improved performance this month, and we even held bragging rights for the first 3 rounds - not that we montioned it at the time

For us, we find Steve's kind of questioning (usually 4 easy'ish' questions every round) more enjoyable. At least we feel part of the quiz even when we're doing badly. Doesn't explain our score of 2 in one of the rounds though

Apart from the clever table, the following pack were very close - we weren't given final positions. Our biggest disappointment was despite being ahead of the Football Hooligans in the first 6 rounds, they pipped us at the post in the last round.

Thanks to all concerned.

Re: QUIZ at JWs
"Most improved" is not bad at all and we were able to climb the ladder from our last place performance in April to 2nd for a while but then a satisfactory 3rd after a blistering General Knowlegde 'joker' round of 18 by D-M's team. A great evening, once again, and it's always good to feel welcome as visitors when we're able to attend. Thanks to Steve for the chance to reminisce over Madonna's hits in the early 80's, it was particularly enjoyable and doubtless the trip to pre-decimal currency for many other attendees was equally well-appreciated!

Re: QUIZ at JWs
Well, we were back to full strength tonight, and we didn't finish last
For the first time ever, we managed to beat an understrength Football Hooligan team. I wouldn't like to embarrass anybody by mentioning which team came last
IMHO tonight's quiz was one of the best we've had. There were enough questions of the easier ilk to keep everybody interested, with just a few to separate the men from the boys. Well done Steve.
Food (chicken curry and tuna sandwiches) looked very nice, and the rest of our team said they enjoyed it.
Only one adverse comment - plastic beer trays on the tables, what's that all about?
