WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
After a night boozing with "The Pensioners" on Soi 80, I decided to treat myself a kebab at the new
"Lucky Pizza & Kebab" shop, also located on Soi 80 (between the Chopper Bar and the Clothes Shop).
Long story short........this must have been the worst kebab in town!!! The meat was dry (I'm not sure
what it was; dog, cat or lizard), the sauce tasted detergent and the little veg in between must have been
a left-over from some one's lunchbox, picked-up from the Hua Hin railway station.
The only good news I have about this place, is that the kebab assisted me to loose about 15kg in about
4 days...........

Sounds like you have a very bad time in Hua Hin? Have you considered the advice given in your other thread "Wildest bar in Town", to go to Pattaya instead? That place would be right up your alley of "wild"!

Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
That's bad news.
I haven't had the opportunity to try out that Kebab place yet, the battery is dead on my electric wheelchair, so I was hoping someone would post a good report about it. Sounds like I'd be safer not to risk my hips by making the trip to Soi 80.
I had heard it was quite an expensive kebab, can you confirm?
You'll have to shout though because I can't find my hearing aid without my glasses and when I ask my nurse where my glasses are I can't hear what she says, although by what you say any price would be too much when your colostomy bag can only hold a quart.

Frank, you can not compare a 'Thai kebab' with a European one. As a source of food, the chicken kebab in MV is tasty, filling, and good value for money.
Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
Are you still here? Move your *rse to Pattaya.

Or maybe move it to the trash bin - I don't think anybody could lose 15kg in 4 days, unless some form of surgery was involved, like decapitationBig Boy wrote:Hmmm...... an effective weight loss product - a good business opportunity for somebody I thinkToni Pepperoni wrote:The only good news I have about this place, is that the kebab assisted me to loose about 15kg in about 4 days...........![]()

I agree with that, there is nothing wrong with the MV chicken kebab, they are tasty, stuffed full of meat and very cheap but they are still chicken and not the lamb doner that I'd like to have.Frank, you can not compare a 'Thai kebab' with a European one. Sounds like Toni P's mystery meat may have been a proper lamb doner, but either too old or too cooked. I don't think he could mistake chicken for dog or cat, maybe lizard.
It might still be worthwhile having a look but it feels like more of a gamble now but I guess a few hundred baht and a few kilos isn't that much to lose.

Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
As I've mentioned on another thread, I've only had a real lamb kebab once in Thailand, and that was from a little roadside stall somewhere in Bangkok.
The chicken kebabs in MV are excellent value for money though, so long as you aren't expecting the real thing. They also certainly a better deal than any meal available at BK and/or McD.

Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
Has anybody seen the Beef Kebab stall doing the rounds in Bintabat?
I saw it once in July just before I had to fly back to England for a month, and thought to myself "I'll have to give that a try when I get back". Now, I don't frequent Binta that often, but on the few times I've been since I got back in August, I haven't seen it again.

Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
I hope that when you do find one in Thailand, that it's actually just lamb! Surveys in the UK regularly show that most lamb doner is baulked up with chicken and/or beef!Frank Hovis wrote:there is nothing wrong with the MV chicken kebab, they are tasty, stuffed full of meat and very cheap but they are still chicken and not the lamb doner that I'd like to have.
Always recall my 1st visit to the kebab kid in the New Kings Road in Fulham and seeing and eating Lamb shawarma. Haven't been able to stomach a doner since (eat other kebabs though).
Talk is cheap
Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
They sell out every day so must be doing something right. I like them because they are scrupulously clean, the salads are fresh and sauces are home made. The 'Pitta Platter' @70bt is great value.Takiap wrote:The chicken kebabs in MV are excellent value for money though, so long as you aren't expecting the real thing. I'm told beef kebabs may be added to the menu but not yet confirmed.
Re: WORST KEBAB IN TOWN
Where in MV do you buy these kebabs? In the food court close to Tesco or somewhere else?Takiap wrote:The chicken kebabs in MV are excellent value for money though, so long as you aren't expecting the real thing.
