Post by PeteC »

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/3 ... black-hole

......Corruption has cost the country about 100 billion baht a year.......

......Between 2007 and last year, foreign direct investment (FDI) to Asean surged 30% from US$85.61 billion (about 2.7 trillion baht) to $111.29 billion. However, the amount of FDI to Thailand shrank from $11.35 billion in 2007 to $8.6 billion last year, a 24% drop.......

NOTE: Will anyone listen? Not until it's too late IMO.

If investors in ASEAN are avoiding Thailand because of corruption where are they going?

According to the Transparency International - Corruption Perception Index 2012 the only ASEAN nations with a better score than Thailand are Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.

Thailand scores 37 - Philippines 34 - Indonesia 32 - Vietnam 31 - Cambodia 22 - Laos 21 - Myanmar 15.
