Takiap wrote:Some strange responses regarding car boot sales. My missus, while in the UK, ended up making a few thousand pounds per month simply by buying stuff at car boot sales and then selling that stuff on eBay. Admittedly, she did also start buying boxes of rubbish from an auction house one a week, and again, she made good money from it. Stuff which I wouldn't have in my home if you paid me often fetched a good price online. Obviously the figures won't be the same here in Thailand, but if a smart Farang and his Thai partner snoop about the country, they're very likely to come across many things that can be sold at a boot sale, and particularly in an area such as Hua-Hin where you have many expats and tourists.

Also, Thais, like many people, tend to like novelty ideas, so car boot sales could also prove to be popular when it comes to selling little arts and crafts. just take a look at the "old style" market type place you pass when heading north. They sell nothing of interest, and yet the place does a rip roaring trade.

And, if you really want to make it a national sensation, just give it a name like "Hua-Hin Car Boot Festival".

There is an opportunity to make some "pin" money. Turn the unwanted things into cash. A clever person will buy and sell there, or buy and sell at Cicada Market Khao Takiab, where things are more expensive. They sell antiques (sort of  ) old Buddhas, jade, books etc. quite a good business. :)

I wonder if Americans in HH assume that this is sale of footwear.

Bad weather footware for automobiles... :? :? :?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
