Makro definitely have them as well as whole Turkeys. They also have fresh Parsnips and Brussel Sprouts and to complete the trimmings, Paxo Stuffing and tins of Cranberry Sauce. Bon Appetite!!dtaai-maai wrote:Don't know, but I would try Makro.

Turkey breast: 350 bht / kg. I am not sure what a "crown" is, but a couple of other things;
Butter ball: 179 bht / kg
Norbert turkey (whole): 155 bht / kg
Freezer full of the things.
And if Turkey is not your thing:
Frog legs:362 bht / kg
Frog chop

Snapping turtle: 612 bht / each
Rabbit: 397 bht / kg
Boar: 164 bht / kg
Deer: 555 bht and 259 bht / kg
Croc: 125 and 178 bht / kg

The Turkey Breast at 350/kilo is the crown - it's basically a turkey with the legs removed. Sometimes the bird is boned to make it easy to carve, but sometimes the breast is left on the bone to give a bit more flavour.Nereus wrote:I have just returned from Makro.christopher1 wrote:Dannie.

A turkey crown, at least from my British perspective, is a boned turkey, which is rolled to contain stuffing and pork sausage meat, and the tied and roasted in the normal manner. The sausage meat keeps the bird moist and of course when it comes to slicing it's no issue. Each slice will contain dark and white meat rolled around the central stuffing and sausage meat......no waste and great for cold cuts the next day.Nereus wrote:I am not sure what a "crown" is
My ex FIL was a butcher and showed me how to bone the turkey but not how to put sticking plasters onto cut greasy fingers. It's my job at Christmas, every year, to prepare one.
I can't see how any of your options would substitute for a turkey but a snapping turtle seems like a challenge even my Ex FIL would have walked away from

Note to self: buy sticking plasters before Christmas.

We ate battered and fried frogs legs in Tennessee... tasted just like chicken!

As mentioned in my previous post, turkey crowns can be supplied on or off the bone, but normally they have had the legs removed so no dark meat - this is an example.

We got ours at the new Villa Market, but works out at 499 baht per kilo for the butterball crown.
