Do I need to inform Immigration?
Do I need to inform Immigration?
I'm in the uk at the moment and am thinking of staying on for a couple of weeks longer than planned. Do I need to inform immigration about my change of return date?

Re: Do I need to inform Immigration?
Are you just entering with a 30-day tourist visa?
If so; there is no need to inform anyone but once the 30 days are up (in-country) you will have to apply for either a weeks extension at immigration or do a visa-run. You can only do the weeks extension once in concession so makes sense to do the visa-run.
Rgds,
GN.

Re: Do I need to inform Immigration?
I've already got a re-entry stamp from immigration, I put on the paperwork that I was returning on 1st January but intend to stay in the uk for a further two weeks.
I live in Hua Hin but I'm not sure about changing flight details and informing immigration.

As long as you leave before your permission to enter/stay expires, you're fine.
EDIT: I've just read your post properly.
There was another thread recently where someone was complaining about misplaced humour or sarcasm.

There's no need to inform Imm of your return date. That's up to you.
However, if you don't return within the validity of the re-entry permit, you'll simply get a 30 day visa exempt stamp on arrival (unless you get another visa). The permit will be dated to expire on the same date as your permitted to stay stamp.

Thanks for the replies, I have an ED visa at the moment, does that make a difference?
Re: Do I need to inform Immigration?
Don't think so. Bapak will know more about that.

Thanks, I've just emailed the school.

Must return before the current Extension of Stay expires otherwise "Ed Visa" is voided.lomuamart wrote:Don't think so. Bapak will know more about that.
