Re: Restaurant News
Well, if they (Naab Thong) were still posting on here I would have known that, and they would have had a few more customers for lunch.

This is the way

Please can we stick to restaurant news in this thread.
Sadly some establishments dont see the value in using this forum to promote their venues, cancel their advertising, and as a result lose customers.

Lucky, a delightful armerican guy who had a place on Kanjanomai for years and was recently squeezed out. He is opening again on railway rd. Near soi 82, just a note to tell all the breakfast crowd -- scheduled for DEC 5th

Khum Issan, the Issan restaurant that my wife and I thought was the best (it was off soi 112) has turned into a Muai Thai boxing gym!

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Lucky has a mix of western and Thai food. He has quite a trade in western breakfasts, many combinations and good price. Nice bunch of guys used to go to his old place 9-10am

Gifs Kitchen, if it isn't closed yet, it will be. Although Gif is still young, her partner is not and is
retiring for good. I enjoyed many a good meal there when I lived next door for 3 months.
I hope to find another small family run café on my next long stay in Hua Hin.

Re: Restaurant News
On the West side of Black Mtn water park..about 1km past is the small settlement of Ban Wang Bort.
If you follow the main road down & round thru' the scattering of houses you come to a junction..
..just to the right at this Jtn. (as if you're going to the bypass) you'll see a small mini-mart with a cooking-area at the front.(painted purple).
A couple of us have been walking around this area for a couple of weeks now, & have always finished off stopping here for a cold Leo & a meal.
2 Thai girls run the place, called A J mini-mart, and the meals from their small menu are wonderful..best Krapow I've had I think, (& well priced).

Re: Restaurant News
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet or not, and I've not tried it, but there is a new(ish?) Indian restaurant called Indian Spice on Phetkasem Road on the corner of Soi 75/1. Looks like a nice place. Anyone tried it?

Re: Restaurant News
^ Thanks Richard, there wasn't anyone in there the couple of times I went by and noticed it. For now I'll stick to the one at the top of Soi 80 (lunch) or the one on the beach in Takiab (dinner). Both of those are good and reasonable.

Re: Restaurant News
Hi,
I was waiting at the traffic lights just south of the tessaban on Phetchkasem Road the other day and I think, not 100% sure, but it looks like the fish and chip shop is no more.
It is still a restaurant, but seems more like a traditional Thai food/noodle type place?
Anyone confiirm?

Re: Restaurant News
Nobody ever mentions it because it is so down-market and not too chic, but there is some very tasty, inexpensive food to be had in the food-court in MV.
