I'm applying for an O visa by post through the Embassy in London and wanted to know if the evidence I send (marriage certificate) needs to be the original or a copy. Can anyone confirm either way.

I'm not 100% sure about this but Embassies etc normally like to see original documents which are returned to you.
Without looking myself, is there no direction on the website? If originals or certified translations (I appreciate that the latter probably won't be necessary for the Thai Embassy) are required, most official sites stipulate that somewhere.

Toonmad..In Nov. of last year I sent them a copy of my marriage certificate (in Thai) & that was fine.
They do however need a copy of the back of your original cert also..this may look like a blank sheet of paper, but near the bottom is a pre-printed line of boxes with your registered number written in them, plus an official stamp. So basically send a copy of each side of your original cert. Hope you get your visa OK.

Thanks chaps. I decided to send the originals, thinking that there was less likelehood of them complaining that I hadn't sent the correct documents.
