Fibre optics just ensures a nice big hole between you and your provider.

The problems reported in this thread sounds like a problem with parts of the providers internal networks, or their connection to the outside world.

I use the 10MPS 3BB package and watch EXPAt TV and 365 SPORT Tv with no problems. I did order the Fibre Optic Package and after surveys and payment I decided that the experience of other users was so bad that I cancelled - it took about 4 months to get the 3,000 odd baht back !

If it is any consolation TOT speeds and connection has been diabolical lately also.

A friend in the know in Bangkok claims the govt have been installing more filters and censors to monitor political comments and discussions on social media.

I have been frequently quite impressed with DL-speeds I've gotten from 3BB 30/3M account:
DLSpeeds.jpg
Several films of ~ 800 M being downloaded simultaneously and completed in about 20 minutes each.

Other times the speed is just atrocious, but when I phone to 1530 I always get excellent service. Also 3BB local office has always given me very good service, indeed.

Brilliant news Farang. So I guess the dips in performance that you were reporting here have gone away

The above graph represents what my friends are experiencing now. So, did the problem simply go away, or is there something 3BB and/or you did to resolve it please?

I have been getting similar and even higher DL speeds with my 10MPS with 3BB - don't ask me why though!

In the beginning 3BB technicians changed my router, but it did not solve the speed problems nor the jumpy graphs. I did nothing special except to complain when it was needed.
Mind you, I still have bouts of near inactivity, but overall the speed has been rather good.

Both Expat TV and 365 Sport require a minimum of 3 Mbps. Every time the fibre drops out (see Farang's graph above - every dip) the screen freezes. OK, you'd get there eventually, but it isn't good viewing having to wait for the speed to restore before your programme continues past the freeze.

All of the time the service is above 3 Mbps it will work brilliantly. However, if for instance you are watching live football, everybody who went to the match will probably be in the pub before the match finishes on your TV - when is live not live?

This is a teething problem, and I'm sure 3BB are doing everything they can to rectify it.

If you're watching using a laptop rather than an Android Box as my friends do, all may not be lost. The laptop will buffer up to 75 minutes, so minor dropouts may not be noticed once the buffer has stored enough information.

I've been having significant connection problems for about 20 hours now. My provider is 3BB and I live in the Bon Kai area. It's bad that I've had to utilise the wi-fi hotspot feature on my phone.

Are there any 3BB users in the area not experiencing problems please?

Using 3BB now without a problem, it did go off for a few hours on the night of the coup though.
