I'm not sure how serious any of you 'older' guys
are about taking this martial art up. My son recognises the style, and actually supplements his Karate with it here in the UK for 1 hour per week.
It is a very effective form of self defence, and has certainly enhanced my son's Karate skills.
The main point I would make is that this form is not at all strenuous - when I first watched my son training this style, I thought it was a waste of time. However, I don't understand how it works, but all of the very slow movements in training result in very fast reactions when defending yourself.
I would guess that this form of self defence is suitable for all age groups.

Don’t be fooled there is considerable fitness involved or it does seem to be considerable to me and Buksi although it isn’t hurting the day after any more ,lots of serious stretching , sit-ups press ups running down the beach and back, and I assume lots more pain to come in the future the minus points seem to be we cant drink more than one large Leo without feeling the effects now and we are confused whether this is good or not

I'm not saying that its not going to be hard work - I am saying that the effort it takes is suitable to all age groups. Compared to the training my son has to do for his other martial art, the effort is slight. However, the results are very effective. The main point I would make is that this form is not at all strenuous - when I first watched my son training this style, I thought it was a waste of time. Karate is very intensive, I studied Wado Ryu style for several years when I was your sons age, of course then my body and mind were a far cry from today.
To the unfit and untrained Wing Tsun is just as intensive, believe me!

So nobody else up for some punishment then?
Fitness is also offered which I for one am finding quite beneficial. Never was one for gyms, too many meatheads IMO, this style of fitness doesnt require weights or equipment and is completely natural.
