renewing my 6 year old's thai passport

Post by wilf »

Hi All

Could anyone offer any advice on the best way of renewing my 6 year old sons thai passport.
He is currently in Hua Hin with his Thai mum and I am in England.

Also hes first Thai passport was issued at the thai embassy in London as he was born in England

Any advice would be appreciated

many Thanks

If me I would go to the Thai passport office in Bagna at the Central department store complex. The main office in Bangkok is still suffering some disruptions because of the demonstrations, and the lines may be longer than at Bangna.

I think the Passport can be mailed to them via EMS after the initial appearance and application. Not 100% sure of this though. Pete

Read this:

There is a Thai language tab at the top so your wife can read it all as well. The above are just some of the sections available for review. Make special note of the requirements for renewal when only one parent is present.

Many Thanks for your reply prcscct the main problem we have is my sons thai birth certificate has been lost.

Not sure if we need that to renew passport, we have got the expired Thai passport.

So if its needed not sure what can be done as it was issued in London

cheers

All I can say is that she can try. See the 1st link above which indicates birth certificate is needed, and a notarized consent is needed from you if you can't attend personally.

Somewhere in those links should be a phone number. She should call them and talk it over before making the trip up there. Pete
