Have True Visions package, about 1600 bht per month, and just watch the Golf Channel, some HBO movies, when they are not continual repeats! And watch all the bike and car racing on Fox.
There are so many Thai channels on there, just skip through them searching for something to watch!
Can anybody recommend another way to get a decent assortment of tv channels, mainly UK stuff and films, without losing the Golf channel?
I am happy to pay to have equipment installed, such as the big black dishes that I see on many houses, and pay a nominal monthly fee to watch.
Any suggestions or experiences of the best route to take ?

Re: Satellite solutions
you will not get much better than thai expat tv ,i have it down loaded to my lap top so i can veiw it anywhere with a wifi conection ,works well even in issan
Re: Satellite solutions
If you do not want to rely on an internet connection is it only True that do the golf channel. Local cable has it in the evenings but very much at the whim of who is fiddling with the controls at their transmission base. Not sure if you can get a card for the Malaysian broadcaster but they do the golf channel. I got CTH GMM-Z platinum for the motor racing and it has a lot of English programmes. I would like to get the golf channel too and am interested in the responses.

I too have the Thai Expat TV and for the main UK terrestrial channels it's hard/impossible to beat at 6,000 baht for a years subscription, although it may not have the golf that you want to watch. Read the advert on here and take advantage of the (two?) day free subscription.ste860 wrote:you will not get much better than thai expat tv ,i have it down loaded to my lap top so i can veiw it anywhere with a wifi conection ,works well even in issan

recommend Thai expat tv for English TV, gave up my UBC 8 months ago and have never looked back. I see a lot of people share a concern over streaming tv over the internet, but this service works well, since the servers are based in Thailand.
To set this up, I recommend an andriod media box, a good one will cost approximately 4,500 baht.

With an andriod box, there is an app ilikehdtv, which has many sport channels that might have golf. English Sports monthly package is 400 baht a month.
This is a good alternative to UBC, as it contains most channels that UBC offer.

You would think that with all of the "Internet is slow" and "Internet is not working" posts and the general unreliability of internet service here in Thailand that no one would even bother with these expat tv or similar streaming television setups.Gregjam wrote:If you do not want to rely on an internet connection is it only True that do the golf channel.
