The best milk I've tasted in Thailand was some stuff that a student had brought back from some popular farm. I can't think of the name of the farm right now... it's very well known. Maybe some forum member will get it before I can remember the name.

Probably Chokchai Farm between Korat and Saraburi......huge place that attracts thousands of visitors.

Yes, Chokchai is great stuff. You can be disappointed though depending upon your timing. If on a Sunday or holiday end after most have left Khao Yai on the way home, the shelves can be empty. That's happened to us a few times. Take a cooler in the car. They have ice. Pete

Click on the "Umm!.. Milk" house for products...and listen to the country music at the same time! :D

I don't know why people think I'm hung up on it. I find it amusing how angry some people are getting over it. I don't think people in this thread have generally been very helpful - other than one post that actually listed the colours for a particular brand. First we had seeteab changing his arguments from "They're all clearly labelled" to "Well other brands are" to "Well I was a milkman" to "Well you should work it out yourself" and now we have you getting equally passionate about the subject and claiming that "Pasteurized Milk" is indeed a clear indication of exactly what type of milk is in the bottle
By the way 'Pasteurised Milk' on the back of your bottle must be very confusing for you when you look what's on the back of the other Meji brands. You were doing well when you indicated that non fat milk must be the same as 'skimmed milk' in England. On that basis you might have a stab at what the others actually represent.
I think we really have a different definition of "Clearly Labelled" - if your definition of "Clearly labelled" involves picking up two or three bottles of the same brand (that assuming that any given 7/11 generally stocks all three varieties, and their shelves are full) and having to deduce what the lack of information on one of them means from what's written on two if them (that is if semi-skimmed milk does detail it's fat content... something we have yet to deduce), then yes - by all means - Milk is "clearly labelled".

I would be obliged if you could show me where I have changed my views from clearly labelled to "well, other brands are". I actually listed all the brands available in stores with a product description.

Where did I say I was a Milkman?? As a young lad I worked on a milk-round for a couple of years. The line was written with tongue firmly in cheek and actually confirms my suspicions that you lack any type of common sense.

I will reiterate that ALL types of milk available in major stores are clearly labelled in English and you are the ONLY poster on this thread that has not grasped this concept. Unless it states otherwise on the bottle or carton you can assume you are buying plain pasteurized white milk. The red, brown and yellow stuff are flavoured milk :banghead:

switch to another brand (in response to a picture of FOREMOST milk)
Where did I say I was a Milkman??
I used to be a milkman - ok I'll admit this one I read "40 years ago" as "for 40 years", but either way...

Right. I understand that now, from all the contributions from this thread... but that doesn't constitute bottles being "Clearly Labelled", as you so adamantly suggest. "Pasteurized whole Milk" would be a clear label, or "Pasteurized full fat Milk" would be a (less likely) clear label.

I seriously can't believe that there are people who think the definition of "clear" is "providing you pick up two or three bottles first and have to make deductions from that".

Pleng...Are you old enough to remember before plastic bottles and cartons? Milk was sold in shops in a clear glass bottle with a silver foil top to denote plain milk and,if I remember correctly,a striped red and silver top for skimmed milk. Dammed irritating, the lack of product description for tourists to the UK.

I was never a milkman, but I did once nick a pint from a carelessly parked milk float...

Likewise...if you don't like the thread nobody is forcing you to read it, I'm sure the Mods will lock it when they see fit and not when some whinger asks them to :tosser:
