Looking for a container to rent or to buy

Post by Socrates »

Hello together,

Is anybody knowing where we can rent or buy a small container in Hua Hin? Its not for to move, only to place it on our space. Should be possible to lock.

Thank you in advance for informations.

Google is your friend... http://www.container.co.th/product.asp and http://www.magellan-maritime.com/de/hom ... lor=&used=

International trans-shipment companies are forever trying to dispose of surplus containers. Pulling some out of the yellow pages and getting a Thai to make some enquiries may be an idea. Un-modified, older units should be comparatively cheap. Price in the UK a few years back was about £900 for a decent one, so perhaps (for industrial throw-offs rather than the nice funky ones at http://www.container.co.th/product.asp) you should think in that sort of ball park.

If you are going to store furniture in it ply line it inside to stop condensation making your furniture getting mold damage.

Kendo, that does not stop it, if left for any length of time the container "cooks" the contents. Our container was 8 weeks, when we opened it was like an oven! It is different storing things in a cool climate but not in hot, even if lined with ply.

Correct Siani containers can go from extremely hot to cold in a short space of time I have worked in transport and cargo handling all my working life. Containers can get really wet inside but ply lining for storage acts as another barrier by no means fool proof and just think of it as another layer.
If you have a container on sight with furniture in just say you are renovating a house open the doors as offen as possible.
I am not sure of the open posters needs apart from being secure storage but the only real way of storing furniture is in wooden creates at an ambient temperature. That we normally have here.

One other thing with containers they are the scourge of yachts men, with very small air vents they take an awful long time to sink, they will float for months if not years below the Waterline and trust me container ships do loose them in rough weather.

On the way out of Cha-am towards Bangkok, the new 'Camel Replublic' enterprise is taking shape. They have lots of containers onsite. No doubt, Somchay will have ordered far too many!

So you have no doubt that “Somchay will have ordered far too many", how do you know this?
