I agree with Lomu that yesterday may have been the hottest ever. We had an early dinner (around 5 p.m.) at a high end open air restaurant and even though the food was wonderful, it was difficult to enjoy with sweat dripping off my nose into my plate and having to constantly wipe my forehead to keep the burning sweat out of my eyes. I think I'm going to give up eating out and just get take outs to eat at home in comfort.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

It's overcast and a lot cooler this morning over here, but no sign of rain as yet.

The summer solstice is not until 21st of this month, so the sun is still nearly directly overhead.
It will start to cool down as the southwest monsoon strengthens and becomes a regular moist wind off the ocean. It is always variable at this time of the year as the monsoon gets established. The unkown is just what affect, if any, El Nino will have.

It's ended now over here. After above the wife drove to Pattaya to shop and said it all stopped and roads dry about 2 miles in from the coast. The radar shows it all out in the gulf now but no idea if headed towards HH. See any black clouds coming from the east? Pete

Nothing menacing looking, but I've seen black skies that never materialise in anything and the opposite, so who knows?

The monsoon finally reached India's southern coast today. We should start to see the effects here hopefully before too long. Pete

Don't know how genuine it is, but I've been told this is Udon Thani. Quite impressive if real.

At the beach tonight here in Rayong (south facing) and the sea was as rough as I've ever seen it without a storm going on. Waves at 5' and a couple kids got sucked out a meter or two before Dads and Moms pulled them out. They wouldn't have gone far anyway as after the shore break it was just heavy chop in shallow waters. Scared the tar out of them though and new respect for the ocean gained by all of the little nippers. Quite a breeze that stood hair straight up. Very refreshing and wonderful to experience the power of the sea for a change in this bathtub called the Gulf.

Start of monsoon from the southwest mentioned above could very well be the cause I guess. Pete

Plenty of rain this afternoon and looking at the clouds, plenty more to come.

Saw a few when living in the Isaan village. On one occasion I was spaced out with some Thai guys in a rice field shelter with food and lao khow watching something like this mother approach. Thought, wow, this looks like fun and then the wife turned up and hauled me home saying 'you crazy f****** falang' . The storm rolled in in minutes and demolished the rice field shelter. Power and water down for 2 days and the road to the paddy disappeared for a week or two. As they do

Think you will find it is real. Look great but don't hang about to meet up with it. Been hit by them in Chicago, Zimbabwe and Isaan. Spectacular but devastatingly dangerous

You should have been getting rain in HH this weekend, any? No joyous posts, so perhaps not.

We've had 3-4 downpours over here, but only 30 minute type. Pete
