Did Arsenal have first dibs? I read that he wasn`t wanted by Wenger, never mind it makes a change for Chelsea to have an Arsenal reject.

We did have, but let's be honest, we don't really need another attacking midfielder, as good as he is.

Priorities lie elsewhere, a striker or two, DM, keeper, right back and another centre back (if Verminator leaves)

I'd have taken Fabregas back. With apparently 100 mil in cash ready for players we could have done this deal and still filled the other priority areas. No harm in having plenty of quality in midfield when you are fighting on all four fronts.

We best hope that Ozil has a better second season than his first.

Fabregas is a good player, but £30 mil plus £150,000 a week is overpriced and overpaid. Didn`t Mata do a similar job? If he is meant to replace Lampard he gets nowhere near the same goal tally. He said he was going to Chelsea to win trophies, hope they do better than last year then (actually no I don`t)

I'm a big fan of pay for performance. Basic super sport guy salary, but the really big money when you prove yourself. I wish this not just for the Premier League but for all pro team sports including NFL, MLB, NBA etc. Pete

I'm surprised he's regarded as good enough to play in the Thai premier league.
