There are a series of concerts at 19 Rai, starting tonight and running until 15 Dec 13. Entry is free, and there is a different top Thai star headlining every night.
These headline acts are always happy to pose for photos with the audience after the show.

Re: Concerts at 19 Rai
Not meaning to be especially negative, but just curious: Do any of you foreigners who have already been to a couple of these Thai oriented music events still go and still enjoy them? I can understand it if you have (especially multilingual) kids I guess, but just wondering. I've been to a few early in my stay here and would rather take a beating that go to another one, but maybe that's just me (or old age).

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Concerts at 19 Rai
Personally, I go because I'm told I'm going. Do I enjoy them - probably the answer is usually. I've been to a couple where I'd have rather stuck hot needles in my eyes, but most have been OK.
As always, my biggest gripe is the seating. The yellow Singha chairs at 19 Rai support me ...... just
, but elsewhere, I normally stand.
It's Thai music/culture, so enjoy it, or don't go. However, we get a lot of questions on here about live music. Well, this as live as you're going to get in Thailand, and they're top artists. It's not some unknown group copying Western music with bad English.
I suppose its something you've got to try for yourself. Some will like, some won't.

You shouldn't need any hot needles tonight BB. Beware the 9th Dec though - it's one of those guitar group contests (if the events are in the same order as in the original poster - concerts originally due to start on 29 Nov). Haven't ever been able to sit through the first one or two. Louder is better apparently. And if you can't sing, SHOUT. Finals on the last day as well.

If they didn't play so bloody loud on a crap sound system some of it not bad at all,but since my job is
in theater and music it's hard to listen to but i give it a try many times and leave if it annoys me to much.
