Yes, correct. Take the thing in pieces with you. :thumb:

edit: and put some vaseline on it when you reassemble it. Silicone will not stay there as long as it takes to put it.

You may laugh but I've made rubber bands work in fixes like this before. No warranty though on how long it may last, but it should be good for a couple runs.

Thanks guys - I always forget that shop. and it's brilliant.

I'll never forget my first time there. As soon as we stopped, there was a lady there telling us that they whatever we needed before we had got out of the car and told her what it actually was that we needed. A real Aladdin's Cave even for a non-DIY expert like me.

I'll take it with me in bits as suggested, and throw myself at their mercy. Hopefully they'll do it for me. It'll be worth a mighty tip to be sure of getting it back together again in one piece for a second time with no bits left over (even if it is only Sagging & Leaking :D ).

 Looks like I'll have to buy a new one for the want of what is probably a 5 Baht 'o' seal.

I tried your elastic band idea Pete, and got another shoe full of water.

Obviously that shop couldn't help you. Disappointing after all the build up about their abilities. Any other alternative places? Thais can usually make anything work and fix anything....you just haven't found the right guy yet.

Let's not get hasty about buying a new unit. If really impossible to fix, how about a new nozzle/handle that fits on to the existing hose. It doesn't have to be B&D if it fits.

I need to use it 2/3 times each week, so time isn't on my side. I will definitely need a working unit no later than Tuesday.

I put up the parts list, but the gun does not seem to be an item on its own. Generic guns all see to have different fittings.

Thais seem to be afraid of it. I don't know why. If I can dismantle and put it back together again with no bit left over, it must be easy. I think its a case of buy a new one, and maybe get the old one fixed in slower time, and hold in reserve for when I break the new one.

None of my business, but curious... why would you need to use one that much. When I owned a big house and had neighbors with big houses most of us needed one two or three times a year. I just borrowed one because the need was so infrequent.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Just found a clever Thai who wasn't afraid to have a look. He was able to prove that the gun was beyond repair - the casing had cracked, and that's where the water was coming through. A new one it is then :(
