Janpen Oxley, 38, nicknamed Sarah, who fled to Thailand while on drugs charges in Sheffield with cash to start a property business, had commissioned the attacks on a retired former U.S. Marine Donald Whiting, 70 – who was left crippled for life, paralysed from the neck down. She was sentenced to life in prison on September 30.

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Sara Oxley is Thai and a female [Mod Edit] Comment removed. Read the Andrew Drummand article. Taken 6 years or more to get to this point and who knows how long for appeal. Doubt if she will ever serve any time. Crime does pay in Thailand.

I am not being difficult, just would like to know. Why must discussion be muted. What is the downside to open discussion?

We don't wish for any speculation on our public board there is information already in the public domain regarding the outcome of this long standing case from other sources of people that have been convicted.
Any further discussion must be based on facts not connected to us but from other media. Slander and defamation are serious crimes in Thailand and the forum (not you) will get sued if it allows unsubstantiated commentary to be published, thank you for your understanding.

I, for one, am delighted that some justice has finally been seen to be done.
I share the view of others who are sceptical as to what the real outcome will be. I only hope that our scepticism is unfounded and that these sentences will be served in full.
If any other people were involved in this horrible case, then I hope that they too are brought to justice.
Finally, I would like to say that I thought the "forum" was just that. A place where people could express their views. Seems like the moderators don't see it the same way as me !

This particular case may be extra sensitive but I regularly see comments posted that could easily come under the heading of "slander and defamation".kendo wrote:We don't wish for any speculation on our public board there is information already in the public domain regarding the outcome of this long standing case from other sources of people that have been convicted.

Seems like we can say almost anything we like on topics ranging from ISIL to the quality of steak in local restaurants most of it unsubstantiated but we cannot discuss certain issues which are very close to our hearts in Hua Hin.
