It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
From what I've seen of the legal process in the country, and I've known a few Anglo/Thai marriages break up, this guy is talking absolute twaddle. If he is telling the truth, his solicitor must have also takien him for a ride.
Think you're right on the solicitor front. Mine cost me dearly and to crown it all his firm went bankrupt 1 year later

Of course .........you can tell he's a dickhead, both when he says "i dont blame her....etc" and, of course the fact that he's wearing a replica football shirt !!!!!

That's my first time going to youtube and impossible to play the entire clip on dial up, at least at this moment. 6:57 minutes would take an hour, only two words come out and then it stops for 15 seconds.
My question, what would possess someone to get on the open air waves and talk about something personal like that? Some kind of misguided self therapy, a big grudge against anything and everthing Thai or, just a wanker?
If the room he is broadcasting from is an example of the house he took his Thai wife home to, I don't blame her for pulling the pin. Pete
This guy has a few posts on YouTube all ranting on about the subject.
He says he is trying to help others by warning them of the dangers. Maybe he is.
Sounds to me like he should be warning people about how pear shaped things can get if you use a crap solicitor, although a GBP10k pay off sounds pretty good considering his ex was after half of everything. Or maybe GBP10K was half of everything?
As I see it, the best thing this fella could do is to get himself off to the Land of Smiles and get himself fixed up with some young Thai hottie to help him get over it. Who knows, maybe he could marry her and bring her home to the UK with him?
This is my greatest fear...ending up like that poor bugger. I love my thai girlfriend dearly, and I'm "pretty sure" (Notice the tone of conviction) that she loves me. However, I sometimes look into my girlfriend's eyes, and I get the feeling that I'm looking into "cat eyes" - meaning that I will never completely know what she is really thinking - to say nothing of her families' thoughts toward me. (I guess the reverse is true as well) Possibly this is paranoia brought about from sitting around too many hua hin bars, listening to too many tales of woe. Anyway...it seems to me that a "pre nup" agreement would be a prudent thing to do. Would a pre-nup agreement have helped that guy in the UK? Not familiar with the laws there.
