Careful, you may have eggs thrown at you. :duck:  The forum population is predominantly Windows/ Android etc.

But yes.....we have all Apple in the house. One older IMac, I think about the same as yours, 3 laptops running 10.9.5, an IPad and a few IPhones.

There are one or two on here who are Mac experts (not me) so if any problems, ask away. Pete

I would have one, but my kid has broken 2 windows based Laptops, both of which I have replaced for around £600 each, half the cost of an Apple computer.

When he gets older, then I may treat myself.

I was "born" with a Mac 1984. Even used the Apple Lisa the year before. Skipped the big stationaries many years ago and today working professionally with graphic design (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc) on a MacBook Pro and MacMini with large display. Also using a MacBook from 2002(!) to be able to run a AGFA professional scanner because software development were interrupted.

For a short period a long time ago I even used a Windows laptop to check jobs to be delivered to Windows users when there sometimes were typeface issues. I still create Word and PowerPoint templates and most clients don't have a clue it's done on a Mac.

In my home I also have another MacBook Pro, a couple of iPads, iPhones, Airport Express for music distribution and Time Capsule for backup. In the storage a MacBook in original carrying case from 1997, still working.

I try and not to get involved in the Mac Vs other OS debate :D

If your happy with what ever the OS you have then that's OK , my daughter has a net book running Windows 7 and she is happy , my wife has an Android smart phone and she is happy - personally I just find  easy to use .

Ive often laid in bed at night fantasizing about being able to afford a new Mac Pro but at 99,900 ฿ its on my when I win the lottery list :D

I did nearly once buy a near new 17 inch Macbook pro , but bottled out in favour of a bargain two month old Suzuki 150 .

My iMac ( 2008 ) is getting on and starting to get grumpy and temperamental , so Ive got a funny feeling that one day soon pressing the on button will have no effect , if and when that happens a decision of what to buy next will have to be made

Must admit even after all this time using an Apple Mac , nearly every day I find some thing I did not know about or a new OS X tip / trick.

I'm currently using 10.6.8 ( Snow Leopard ) but every now and then I wonder if I should update to Mavericks but then stumble across a comment from some one who has done the jump and is asking how to reverse back to 10.6.8

When I first bought the iMac 24 inch I thought it was massive , now personally I would like a 27 inch version

Have you ever wanted to go with a larger screen size , or do you have a large external monitor .

Thanks for the welcome :)

Ah children :)

Me. If you have any problems with your Mac let me know - I can fix it for you.

Oh, and all computers suck, not just Windows. Do something real, bake bread, fix a car, cook.

Welcome to the forum - as you can already see there are plenty of opinions to be had.

I got an Apple Mac Classic II in 1992 and have had Macs and Apple gear since (including two Newtons!) but also run PCs for work as well as VMWare with Windows 7 for certain PC only programs. I'm not a programmer or hardware guru but like to keep my knowledge as updated as possible so if there's anything specific you need help with then just ask and I'm sure there'll be no shortage of offers. And those opinions!

I have a Mac Book circa 2008 and the trackpad that controls the mouse is not working. I have been told that it is an old model replacement parts are no longer available from apple, so nothing can be done.
Had this problem with iPod couple of years ago and had it successfully repaired at MBK in Bangkok. Just wondered if there is anyone local who can help
Thank you

I have a 2007 24inch Mac I've been using for four years. Replaced the HD last year. Also have a IPad.
I would/will never go back to using a PC again.
